=Sabre's POV=

Rainbow and I trekked through the snowy tundra, a light snow falling as we made our way through the cold. "Are we there yeeet?" Rainbow complained.

"I'm not seeing anything yet, Bow, but I'm sure we'll find something soon. Besides, aren't you the one that sensed the place?" I replied.

For a bit of context, yesterday, Rainbow had been panicking due to the fact he thought he was seeing Elemental appearing around the area, and in fact, he was. Turns out Rainbow had some sort of connection to Elemental after whatever had happened in that lab we were trapped in.

Time was able to create a machine to help us track Elemental, and now, here we were, having used Rainbow's energy to lock onto Elemental's.

Rainbow was holding onto my elbow, my coat sleeve tied so the cold wouldn't bite at it. I stuffed my hand in my pocket, him copying my actions, huffing in annoyance. I smiled at him and he glared at me.

"Your face is so annoying." He grumbled. "What? What'd I do wrong?" I asked. Honestly, I was a bit offended. What made Rainbow say that?

"You decided it would be a good idea to go out into the tundra in the FREEZING COLD, mind you, to find Elemental's stupid base, and here you are smiling at me like an idiot." He stated. I smirked, laughing a bit. "Oh really? Cause I thought you were the one that suggested it."

"Shut up!! It didn't mean you had to go with it!" He defended as I laughed. I reached over and pat him on the head, continuing our walk while glancing around for any thing out of the ordinary. Rainbow then tugged on my arm. "Sabre, look!" He said. He pointed to the right, where there seemed to be something rocky emerging from the icy water.

"Woah, what's that?" I wondered. We went over, making sure to be cautious. "It looks like a volcano.." I stated. "A what?" Rainbow asked. "Oh, there are mountains that spurt lava from the top called volcanos. They also explode sometimes." I informed him.

"Ah, well I hope that thing doesn't explode.." He muttered as we stared. "Wanna check it out?" I asked, Rainbow responding with a nod. We made our way to an ice path that lead through the water to the volcano. "Careful you don't slip, the water's cold and I don't want you to freeze. Plus, I don't know if I can really swim at all now due to this.. uh... alteration." I warned as we walked.

"It looks like there's an entrance over there." Rainbow pointed as we walked down the path "We should try to climb over the side and look in." I stated, redirecting his finger slightly to the side. "It looks climbable, and would probably be safer due to the fact that we wouldn't be coming through the place we'd be expected to go through."

"Ah, yeah, makes sense." Rainbow replied. We made it to the volcano, and we began to climb. I grumbled in annoyance at having to use a simple elbow instead of my hand, but I guess I'd have to manage.

Soon enough, we had made it to the top. Rainbow held my hand as we looked over the edge into the drop below us.

"Woah, I don't like that." Rainbow said, backing away. He tugged me back a bit, then crouched down nervously. "What, you scared of heights? Before you forgot stuff, you weren't afraid of heights at all. You flew everywhere." I said.

"Yeah, well, that was past me, this is now me!" He complained. "Now get down here, I don't want you to fall!"

I crouched down next to Rainbow, peering inside the large base. There seemed to be four sections to it, maybe representing the four elements?

One section had lava and magma. Fire, I guess. Another had a floating island. Air? Maybe. The third contained ice and water. Yeah, that was water. The last was a hill with trees and a cave. Earth.

In the center was some sort of quartz structure connecting it all, redstone scattered about inside. There was Elemental. He was working on some wiring inside.

"What do you think he's doing?" Rainbow mumbled. I shrugged and knelt down, uneasy. We flinched as Elemental suddenly laughed. "Finally, my machine is nearly completed!" He boasted aloud. Rainbow grabbed at my arm. "Sabre, we gotta tell Time, right now."

Rainbow pulled my arm, leading me back down the side of the volcano. We got back onto the ice path and ran, only to be suddenly halted as a pillar of ice shot up in front of us. "My my, where do you two think you're going?" Elemental cooed.

Rainbow held tightly to my hand, glaring up at the evil man. "I don't know what you're doing in there, but I don't like it!" He yelled. Elemental smiled. "Well then, you might not like what's about to happen next. Sabre, attack Rainbow." He ordered.

"What? I'd never-" I took a sharp breath as my muscles cramped up, suddenly losing control of my body. "...Rain.. bow..?" I managed to get out, before everything went black.

=Rainbow Steve's POV=

"...Rain.. bow..?" I heard Sabre whisper. I turned to him. "What's wrong, did Elemental do something to you? Let him go!!" I quickly redirected my attention to Elemental, who only smirked.

"Come down here and fight me, coward!!" I exclaimed. Elemental hummed. "You might regret saying that." He stated. "What?" I asked, turning as I heard Sabre let out a low growl.

I stared in horror as golden, glowing tears streamed from under his bandana, an angered yet pained expression on his face. His arm... the one he lost.. it was replaced with solid, clear ice, forming a forearm and claw-like hand.

"Well would you look at that... Elemental gave me a little something to work with!!" He shouted, raising his new arm. I shrieked and ducked, desperately dodging his sudden attacks.

I ran for it. Then again, who wouldn't, if their best friend was suddenly overtaken by some evil control freak? I dodged as he continued to try and attack me, shrieking yet again as sudden ice spikes shot up from the snow.

I had to be careful. I didn't know when or where the spikes would shoot up and try to impale me. I dodged a rocky snowball, then ducked as a sheet of ice flew over my head.

Sabre was getting closer. "TIME!!! TIME STEVE!!! HELP!!!" I screamed. I ran. I screamed for help. I dodged. I kept running.

I yelped as Sabre suddenly tackled me into the snow, pinning my face down as he raised his clawed hand yet again. I reared my fist back and punched.

Sparks of flame flickered to life as the sound of whistling fireworks filled my ears, an explosion of oranges, yellows, and whites going off and sending Sabre flying. I stood almost immediately, watching Sabre crumple to the ground.

"Oh no... no, no no no no no.. SABRE!!" I ran towards him, turning him onto his back. The ice on his left arm began to melt away, leaving the stub of an elbow he had behind. He took in a shaky breath, before groaning.

"Oh, thank goodness you're okay, I was worried I hurt you.." I told him. He simply nodded. "Can we go home, Rainbow..? I don't feel very well.." He replied.

I helped him stand, then began to guide him back home after not seeing any trace of Elemental. I guessed he went back to his dumb volcanoey thingy.

We walked together, heading back home as the sun began to set.
