Benny ran down the seemingly endless hallway, yanking on almost every door knob in sight. "Come on, open!" Benny cried. He looked over this shoulder to see the shadow nearly on his heels.

He eventually reached the end of the hallway, with only one door left that he hasn't tried yet. He quickly tugged on the handle, fortunately the door opened. He ran inside the room and slammed it shut behind him. He breathed hard and studied his surroundings, until he noticed a girl in the corner. She was hunched over, clutching her stomach. "Are you okay?" Benny asked.

"Stay away!" She shouted, but Benny knew he couldn't. He ran up to her and kneeled down beside her, "I'm not leaving you here." He tried to pick her up, but she pushed him away.

"Just go!" She cried. A gust of wind pushes Benny away, the door swings open, and he falls back into the hallway.

"No!" Benny screams.

He sits right up in bed, panting. "Again? Really?" He mumbles to himself while rubbing his tired eyes. Ever since he made that stupid potion and Mary stopped talking to him, the nightmares started again and it was the same one every time. It was killing him.

"Everything okay, dear?" Evelyn asks, opening Benny's door ajar.

"I'm fine." Benny mumbles, tearing away his blanket and shuffling to his closet. "Are you sure? You haven't been yourself for the past couple of weeks, I'm getting a little worried." She questions.

Benny sighs, "I'm sure. I've just been having trouble sleeping again, that's all."

"Are you sure it's not because of Mary?"

Benny bites the inside of his cheek. "It's nothing. I'm fine. Really." He avoids her worried gaze, and continues to get ready for school. "If you say so." Evelyn sighs in response then walks out of his room.

Benny looks up at himself in his mirror, he looks awful, which made him feel even worse. He needs to forget about this, he needs to stop beating himself up so much.

He picks up his phone and dials Ethan's number, "Hey, you wanna try that ghost alarm thing today?"

...

Mary hasn't been doing so well for the past couple of weeks. Her nightmares started again, they stopped for a bit, when her and Benny were still talking, but now they're just as bad as before. She still talks to Sarah sometimes, but she's still trying to distance herself. It was safer that way, at least for now.

Mary tiredly pulls her locker open, as she does, her books tumble out to the floor, along with some pens and random papers. "Seems about right." She mumbles.

She bends down and starts to pick them up, when another hand grabs one of her pens, "Hey Mary! How's it hangin?" Rory asks. Mary smiles at the blonde, "Oh, hey, Rory."

He picks up the rest of her stuff and hands it to her while she stands, "Thanks." She says. "Check it out," Rory grins, gesturing to his t shirt, "Pretty sick right?"

"What's Single Tear?" Mary asks.

"It's this awesome band I started listening to. Their songs like speak to me on another level." Rory replies.

Mary chuckles, "That's great, Rory."

"So, how come I haven't seen you around Benny and Ethan lately?" He asks. Mary sighs, she went so long without a question like that coming up, she didn't know how to respond. "It's complicated." She replies.

"Well, if you need a friend or just someone to talk to, you know where to find me." Rory tells her with a genuine smile. Mary returns the gesture, he was such a sweet guy. "Thanks, Rory."
