"Stop running from me, Mary. You know I'll always find you."

Mary started to panic and continued to run down the hallway, trying every other door.

"There's no way out. I'm everywhere."

Mary ignored them. She finally found an unlocked door and yanked it open.

"You're not safe in there! You're not safe anywhere! You can't hide from me!"

She slammed the door shut and backed away slowly, her hands shook and her knees buckled. Loud bangs echoed from the other side, the sound throbs in her ears and Mary felt the panic return.

"Go away!" She screamed. She continued to back away, expecting to hit a wall, when she was met with a soft body.

She yelped, but the figure pulled her into their chest, and placed soft hand on her back. "Hey, it's okay, everything is alright. You're safe now."

"I don't know what to do." Mary sobbed.

"That's why I'm here."

"Benny?"

Mary sits straight up in bed, her eyebrows crossed, "well that's new."

Mary never had a dream like this, she isn't sure what to think of it. She's never had a dream with a friend in it.

Although, her and Benny have been becoming closer. He walked with her to algebra every day, he still brought her breakfast before class almost every morning, she helped him, Ethan, and Sarah stop those vampire nurses; it was probably only a matter of time before Benny appeared in one of her dreams.

"Everything is alright, you're safe now."

That one bit loops over and over again in her head. She gets up and begins to pace while thinking out loud. "What did that mean? Does Benny know? No, he definitely doesn't."

Mary groans and shakes her head, "maybe it wasn't him, maybe I thought it was him and I'm just driving myself crazy for no reason."

But she wasn't fully convinced.

...

Mary exhaustedly places one of her books in her locker, whilst glancing at her reflection in a small mirror. Her eye bags were still deep and dark, but thankfully the rims of her glasses hid them slightly. She hadn't worn them in a while, she thought her sight had gotten better.

"You look exhausted."

Mary jumps out of her shoes, "oh my god I didn't even see you come up behind me, how did you do that?" Sarah points at the mirror and then points at herself, Mary chuckles at her, "oh, right. And thanks, that's exactly what I want to hear today."

"Sorry, this new blood substitute Benny's grandma gave me is driving me nuts. It's awful." Sarah grumbles, gesturing to the small brown juice box in her hand.

"Maybe you can ask her later to make you a new one." Mary mumbles tiredly.

"Have you gotten any sleep?" Sarah asks. Mary shakes her head, "no. I've been having crazy nightmares."

Sarah raises an eyebrow, "really? What about?"

"A whole bunch of weird stuff. Like last night, I was running down a hallway and all the doors were locked." Mary explains.

Sarah's eyes widen, she immediately remembers the dream that's been torturing Benny. "That is weird. Is something chasing you?" She asks.

Mary pauses, unsure if she should answer that question. On one hand, if she said no then Sarah would know she was lying, on the other hand, if she said yes Sarah would have to ask what's chasing her, and she would still catch Mary in a lie.
