Benny sits beside Ethan in his room, trying his best to beat him in their video game when Ethan's phone rings. "Phoone." Benny says.

Ethan sighs and picks it up to hold it against his ear on his shoulder, "Hullo?"

"Yo, E-dog! You got twenty minutes before MC Monsta-Bat drops the beats, from the streets in school!" Rory cheers on the other line. Mary sits beside him by the table rolling her eyes, she was regretting her decision to come support him at the open mic.

"Who is it?" Benny asks.

"MC Monsta-Bat, that's me...Rory!"

Ethan rolls his eyes. "I'm tuning up for the school talent show." Rory adds.

Ethan moves the phone away for a moment and turns to Benny, "Rory says he's gonna drop some beats at the open mic tonight, ya wanna go?" Benny laughs in response.

"There's a really hot girl going on first." Rory states, this causes Mary to grab the phone. "Benny you better not come because of that."

"Oh! Hi babe!" Benny grins, "Wait, what are you doing there?"

"Don't you remember last week? Rory like begged us to come tonight? I held up my end, why aren't you here?" She replies.

"Oh, crap I'm sorry I forgot haha..."

Mary groans, "Seriously? You expect me to sit here alone and watch Rory 'drop some beats?'"

"I'm sorry! I'll make it up to you, I promise. Pizza date night tomorrow? I'll buy, and you can pick the movie."

"Ugh, fine. You know I can't say no to movie pizza date night." Mary replies.

"Yay! Okay, have fun tonight, love you!"

"Yeah yeah, love you too." She chuckles, handing the phone back to Rory.

"Wait, Rory, does the girl going on first have one of those wickedly awesome Flying V Guitars?" Benny asks. He didn't hear Rory's response, Ethan turns to relay it, "No."

"Nah, I'm officially out, sounds emo." Benny replies. "Plus I still really want the pizza movie date night with Mary."

Ethan chuckles, "Sorry, Rory."

Rory huffs and hangs up, "Damn. That sucks."

"Wha-hey, I'm still here. And I will cheer you on, quietly, ok silently and I'll give you a thumbs up." Mary states while grinning. Rory blushes when she grins at him, then clears his throat. It's been especially hard for him to be around her lately, even more so now since none of their other friends were around. "I'll take it." He shrugs then smiles back.

"Mary, there's actually something I need your advice on." He blurts out. This probably wasn't the best idea, he wasn't the greatest with words, what if he slipped up?

"Is this something I can actually give advice on or is it like a vampire problem?" Mary asks, half kidding. He laughs, "No, it's a regular human problem, I promise."

"Okay, sure, fire away, Keaner." She beams.

He takes a breath, keeping his gaze down to avoid her sweet smile. "So, um, I think I may really, really like someone, but the problem is that I shouldn't like them. For many, many reasons, and I don't know what to do about it. It's been driving me nuts, it's like consuming me. I don't like feeling this way, Mary, I want it to go away and I wanna move on but I don't know how. I've never felt like this."

Mary nods, "Uh huh, okay, I see. Well, really there's only a small number of ways you can move on."

"Name them, I'll do anything at this point."
