The House

chapter 6

It was the day of the Blight Bash, Eda had left over an hour ago and was finally finding the strength to throw myself through the shower, working out in the Isles was a lot different to the human realm. I had been up for hours, I had made it my grand plan to build a mini gym in the spare room in the basement, Eda had scrap metal and some equipment so I just had to build stuff. My metal/woodworks teacher loved my handiness and let me take a lot of extra credit for his class which made up for my failing chemistry and math's marks, I was in my element.

This morning I just decide to go for a run and jog past the Cafe amity and I used to go to all the time, I was surprised to see our favorite cashier Drake still worked there, she didn't recognize me for a solid 20 mins until I was about to leave and she shouted at me for not telling her I had grown. I had walked out with my favorite coffee in hand, an iced latte with just a bit of whipped cream, the best thing money could buy. I was thankful Eda made me a sorta bank account, I wasn't sure what it was called in the isles but it meant I had money to but stuff when I needed or wanted. When I made it back to the owl house Eda was packing a bag with King in a baby carrier on her chest. "Hey kid change of plans, we are off for the weekend, ill pop by Hexside and enroll you but please kid don't burn the house down and be safe we will be back Monday." Eda ruffled my hair before strolling out the door, I decided today I would finish building my little gym downstairs.

Music blasted around me as I finished welding the last piece of metal to the weightlifting bar, I smiled at my handy work. My phone buzzed in my pocket, my mom texted me

"Hola Mija, como estas? I hope your staying safe and being good for Eda, I was texting to see if you wanted to bring your friends around in 2 weeks for a late birthday celebration in your boring old house?" I smiled at her text before sending a quick thumbs up and a all good her way. I looked at the time "2:47", the party wasn't for another 5 hours but I was famished and sweating up a storm, I dragged my feet into the kitchen grabbing down some easy Mac and cheese, yes its bad for you and incredibly artificial but boy is it tasty. I chucked a saucepan on the stove top leaving to boil I sauntered over to the fridge laying my eyes on a small can of cola, Eda loved the stuff and drank it by the gallon when the portal was open. I sighed thinking about the portal, I was glad it was open but the cost of opening it was unfair, I remember lying on my bedroom floor unable to move covered in blood, was it mine?

I dragged my leg behind me, I gripped onto my staff, blood dripped onto the grass as street lights illuminated my street up ahead. I wanted to turn back and get her, but I would get killed by her father, I had to wait 4 years to come back otherwise I would be killed by any emperor coven members left, I killed Belos. That wasn't the plan when Amity and I went to the old house, we were hoping it would be just a few guards to knock out, but as soon as he knocked out amity and broke her leg I didn't care what happened anymore. My body wanted to stop, he had put up a good fight and my body ached but I needed to get home. I slammed my body against the front door unable to find the strength to knock, the door swung open as I collapsed into my mothers arms.

I snapped out of my memory to the sound of water bubbling over, I chucked in the pasta. I had never remembered that part of the night, there was always a gap in my memory. Without Eda and King in the house it was very quite and I didn't want to text my friends because I wanted to surprise them at the party. I wonder if they had changed much, wonder if any of them are dating? Amity could be dating someone, I didn't think about that, I never really admitted my feelings for her, I should have when I had the chance. I had dated one girl for a little back in the human realm but we didn't even kiss because I was still madly in love with the green haired witch back home. I wandered over to my food chucking in the artificial cheese into the pasta, once it was done I sat down on the couch flicking through channels on the crystal ball. Soon enough my food was done and I felt my self drift off to sleep.

I groaned waking up and stretching my arms, I looked out the window and it was dark, I scrambled to find a clock. My eyes hit the wall clock and I swore "6:45", I needed to get food for dinner and for hooty before I lefts was hoping to have more time to get ready for the party tonight, I guess I would have to be late. I ran out the house scolding myself for not grabbing a jacket or showering after working all day, I could see the night market up ahead, I needed to avoid it knowing Eda I'm probably wanted for something. I finally made it into town finding myself standing at a fast food shop, I stood in line waiting my turn when my scroll buzzed, Eda had posted on Pensta a video of her and king running through the snow at the knee, I chuckled looking at the time "6:53", I had about an hour and a half till I wanted to get to the party, I relaxed, I had time.
