While we were waiting on the rocks, Zane was fixing up the vehicles, trying to get it to work once again. Nya and Jay sat in the Land Rover, trying to fix the inside of it.

Vultures surrounded us, making Jay uncomfortable, "Vultures. That's never a good sign."

Zane spoke over the radio so they could hear him, "They are carrion birds. It is a sign they believe we are a potential mean."

Jay stared at the radio, dumbfoundedness spread across his face, "Oh. Thanks, Zane. Way to boost morale. "

Nya sighed, irritation in her voice, "Can you guys keep it down? I'm trying to reach Pixal on the radio. Come in? Pixal, can you hear me? Mayday! Mayday! Come in, Pixal."

"Any luck?" Lloyd asks.

Nya groaned in frustration, "Nothing. There's something wrong with the long-range transmitter, but I can't figure out what."

"Okay, well, don't give up." Cole, Kai, and I were sitting down, just resting while dying in the heat. Lloyd came out of the Land Bounty, walking towards us with another box, "That's the last of it."

Kai immediately stood up, "That's not good. Less than a days supply of water."

"And the ATV and the Dune Bounty are wrecked, and the rock-cycle isn't fast enough to outrun those beetles," Cole complained.

"Well, even if we could, it would only carry two of us."

"Maybe Nya can draw some water out of the air?" Lloyds eyes got brighter.

I laughed, "In this heat? Yeah, good luck." We heard some banging noise and we looked to our left to see Jay hammering away at a rock, "Jay, what wee you doing?"

He kept going, "Carving a message on this rock. So people know who we are when they find our bones."

Lloyd stared at me with dumbfoundedness, "Can we try to be a little more optimistic, please?"

Zane's voice rang out, "I'm afraid there is little cause for optimism. Our situation is dire. The bounty's engine will not start without the Thermolytic Kinetic Inverter."

Cole furrowed his brows, "The thermo-what?"

"It is a critical engine component."

"Well, what's wrong with it?" Kai asked.

"It is missing. I believe when Beohernie ripped through the hull..."

"Bernie!" Jay interrupted him to tell him his name.

"...he tore that component out and swallowed it."

Jay groaned, "Ugh. Well, that's just great! First, a finally beetle tries to eat us alive, then we smash into a pile of rocks..." Jay continued to rant while we ignored him.

"Can't we use the ATV's Inverter?" Lloyd questioned.

Zane shook his head, "It was also damaged."

"What about the rock-cycles inverter?" Nya whined.

"It is inadequate for a vehicle the size of the Dune Bounty."

We kept trying to figure out options, but we heard Jay scream. We turned to see Jay about to get eaten by a beetle.

"Help!" Jay cried.

"Jay!" We all screamed.

Jay slipped off the rocks, but Lloyd grabbed his hand in time. We all one by one grabbed a hold of each other, to make sure that no one fell.

"Hang on, Jay!" Lloyd yelled at him.

"Pull me in! Pull me in!" Jay whined.

Lloyd groaned in pain, " I can't. He's too strong."
