Chapter 17

We made it to the sky and got close to the land. Lloyd said, "Alright, we're getting close. You have the venom, Cole. I mean, Black Blood."

Cole nodded, "I sure do, but aren't you supposed to keep quiet, Mutt the Mute?"

Nya was nervous, "Don't waste an ounce of that stuff. We many only have one shot here. Oh, I don't like this. I don't like this at all."

I gave her a sad look, "What's wrong? I've never seen you so afraid."

Nya sighed, "I just hope Jay's alright. It's been so long, we don't even know if he's--"

I cut her off, "Don't say it. He'll be okay, We've already lost too many. We're not gonna lose him."

Nya smiled, "Alright. It's showtime. I'll bring her in close."

We got right up to the land and Lloyd motioned Cole, "Go!"

Cole jumped off and made his way to Nadakhans drinks. 

We were waiting for a bit when Nya started to get impatient, "What's taking them so long?"

Lloyd shrugged his shoulders, "Don't ask me. I'm not supposed to talk."

I laughed, "Damn, someone is hot under the collar."

We then saw this person come down and look at us, "Oh, hiding away so the new b-blood could steal a break, eh? Don't worry, I won't tell. What be your names?"

I say Nya hesitate so I said, "Name's Dawn Jasper. This is Scallywag and Mutt the Mute."

He nodded, "Well, listen here, Dawn, Mutt and Scallywag, because I'm only gonna tell you once how things g-g-go around here. At the top of the ladder, you get Nadakhan. After him, it's Flintlocke. Then Doubloon. Oh, no,no, wait. It's, uh, D-D-Dogshank. Then Doubloon, Monkey Wretch, me, and way down at the bottom of the ladder is you threes. So if you ever want to rise up that ladder, you got to first step on me. Oh, no, wait a minute, that does not sound right." I saw Lloyd trying to tell Nya her mustache is coming off, "Only everyone higher ranked steps all over me, so why would they? Ahem, maybe I got it all upside down. Either way, careful using the word 'wish' around the captain. It's tempting, but w-w-wishes aren't free. I never used mine. But why would I? A pirates life is great!"

Lloyd cleared his throat then whispered, "Ahem. Mustache." She fixed it.

The pirate looked at us, "Hey! Y-Y-You talked. I thought you were mute."

Lloyd used his terrible pirate voice, "Aye. It be a miracle. Aar."

Nya laughed nervously, "They say you were born with no tongue, but look at that. There it is."

I mentally facepalmed myself.

The loudspeakers came on, a voice ringing through, "All hands, keep an eye out for anything suspicious. The prisoner has escaped."

He looked at us, "Hey..." We got nervous, "what are you waiting for? You heard your orders. Be on the lookout. And we'll be needing a new name for you, Mutt the Mute. How about, uh, Mutt the Miracle?"

Lloyd nodded, "Uh, sounds great. Love the idea."

He left and we all sighed. I shook my head, "That was close. We have to be ready when they get here."

Lloyd nodded, "Tell me about it."

We saw pirates getting on our blimp, me getting ready to fight them. But, after trying, they caught us. They put all of us in vengestone cuffs. I looked at Nadakhan and he smiled at me, "I haven't seen you yet. Who are you?"
