"Hello southern Costal pack! Good morning. I'm glad to see you all here." I say standing in front of the majority of the pack. Some of the older women took the little pups to the beach while we train.
"Pups 10-13 will be with Edmund. 14-17 will be with Obed. Women with Sam. I want everyone else with me. I want to see now you guys train and go from there. Any questions?" I ask.
"Why do we have to do this?" A girl growls. She's probably 16 if I were to guess. She's got a temper to match her red hair I can tell already. I smile at the way she storms up to me.
"To make sure you don't lose your pretty little head to a rogue wolf." I say just loud enough for her and maybe a few people around us to hear. I don't want to scare the pups.
"I don't need this crap to knock you down a few pegs. You can't just come in here and change everything!" She yells at me.
"I'm the Alpha little Red. I can do exactly that. I want to I protect this pack. This is how I'm gonna do it. Please head to your group." I tell her and she growls.
"My name is Ralynn."
"Good to meet ya, Red. Now go to your group unless you are looking to train with me and the warriors?" I smirk and she growls again before going off with the older teens.
"Can I have a minute, Alpha?" A man asks and I nod before following him slightly away from the group. "My name is Gerald, your Gamma unless you choose someone else."
"Good to meet you, Gerald." I say offering my hand which he shakes.
"Stay away from my daughter." He suddenly says dropping my hand.
"Your daughter?" I ask.
"Ralynn... I saw the way you looked at her. She is nearly 17. Far to young to deal with a horny Alpha boy." He growls.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I growl back.
"I was with your father when he was young. Heck I was right there with him doing the same things but I will not let you use my little girl like that!" He yells.
"You don't even know me Gamma." I growl having to restrain myself from punching him. "I am nothing like Edmund. I hate who he was. I hate that anyone would disrespect the mate bond by sleeping around. Doing so disrespects your mate, disrespects the one you are with, disrespects yourself, and disrespects our God. You would do well to get to know someone before accusing them. She may only be a little over a year younger than me but she is also a minor. Even if I was a man whore as Edmund and apparently you were I wouldn't cross that line." I inform him and he bows his head.
When I turn around I see most of the pack made sure they were close enough to hear our discussion. Just great.
"I thought I said to start training!" I yell and they scatter.
"I'm sorry, Alpha." Gerald says and I sigh.
"You were protecting your pup. I get that... just don't compare me to Edmund. I've done nothing to deserve that." I grumble and he nods.
"Thank you, Alpha." He says and I give him a smile.
"So come on Gamma show me how you train the men." I say and he smiles back before walking toward the warriors.
"Gamma!" I yell after about 30min of watching training.
"Yea, Alpha?" He asks jogging up to me.
"Is this normal?" I ask him and he looks confused.
"Yes?" He answers and I sigh.
"Half the men aren't even doing anything. Most of them are winded... is he seriously sun bathing?" I ask stunned.
"They all can fight... honestly they just don't see the point. We hardly ever get attacked. I mean the majority of our boarder is ocean. We are safe." He tells me.
"You are complacent." I growl. "Warriors on me!" I yell and all the men jump up forming ranks. Well I guess they do know something. "I want your best three warriors in the ring now. Everyone else pay attention." I growl walking over to the ring. "Names and ranks." I say as three men join me.
"Greg lead warrior."
"Chris Second."
"Matt third."
"Good... do you three have any problems fighting your Alpha?" I ask them.
"No sir." They all respond.
"Then show me what you got." I say getting in a fighting stance.
"All three of us?" Chris asks and I nod. They look at each other. Greg shrugs before they start to circle me.
"What are you doing?" I hear someone yell and I growl shutting them up. Being Alpha has its perks.
I soon realize they won't initiate the fight so I lunge at Greg landing a blow to his jaw before spinning away from him and kicking Matt in the chest. That seems to have an effect as the three of them start to attack me. In no time I have Matt and Chris down for the count. Once it is one on one I can see Greg starting to get worn out. I take off my shirt to escape some of this southern heat and square up with my final opponent. He gives everything he's got and I'll admit Greg is a strong fighter but in the end I have him flat on his back submitting to me.
"What was the point of that!?" Edmund growls grabbing my arm.
"Release me Edmund." I growl back and he let's me go. I stare him down before turning to the warriors. "You need to take training seriously. I pray to God you never have to use it but slacking off now will get you killed later. What's the point in teaching the pups to get away from danger if you can't protect them when they come to you? I know most of you have never needed to fight a rogue or an attacking pack. That is a good thing but if something came up tomorrow I fear you all would be dead. Three a days for warriors until further notice. Once I can trust you to protect our people we can reevaluate the schedule. Am I understood?!"
"Yes Alpha!" They all respond and I nod.
"My office." I whisper to Edmund before marching off with him on my heels.
"Cedric I..." Edmund starts as soon as the door is closed.
"No." I cut him off. "I talk you listen. I want you as an advisor but if you question me in front of the pack again we are gonna have problems. You see how I asked you quietly to have a private conversation?" I ask and he nods. "I expect the same respect from you... and Edmund if you ever grab hold of me or restrain me in any way again I will break your arm. Understand?" I growl deeply.
"Yes."
"Good! Now what did you want to talk about?" I ask much more lightly.
"I think you covered it all on the field." He says and I nod.
"Glad to hear it... now how did the pups do today?"
