"sir we have won, but this camp had great skill and we lost over half of our men." the soldier was a little nervous at giving me the news and with good reason, there were no more than 60 wood elves against our two hundred, while my force was not particularly large as an army they were a great deal larger than this camp, we should not have lost any men in this raid.
"Collect the bodies of our men, they deserve a proper burial. And ensure that none of these heathens still live." I would ussually yell at news like this but I was distracted by the girl I had to use a spell on. she was no more that eleven or twelve and she took mor than twenty of my best men, there is no way she was trained that well in such a short time. there was somthing different about this girl it could have been desperation but I highly doubt that, I will have to do some research when we return to Garthalan. I remember when the wood elves had powers such as mine but that was connected to there lands and we made sure those were destroyed almost a century ago, while these elves were skilled they were not ruthless killers as we were told so many times before I had watched this camp for two days and they helped not only eachother but also other people.
One of my men had stumbled into their camp after being bitten by a snake he had not worn his battle paint or gear so they had no idea he would wind up killing them but they helped him one of them found the snake and made an antidote then healed the man and sent him on his way. this is not the act of ruthless killers, so why had they done this.

My eyes flew open and I tried to get up to save my family but I was still trapped under what I now seen was part of someones caravan. I looked around to see that it was morning now. it was the afternoon when last I saw. I had been knocked out for the whole night.
I tried to push the boards off of me but they were too heavy. I looked around and found a mace. I propped it under the boards then lay a rock under the mace, I pulled it down as hard as I could but it did not move the boards enough I was only able to slide out a little bit but now I could sit up and reach bow. I was reaching for it when a shadow came over me, I turned quickly knife in hand, It was the man I had comforted while they treated him for the venom, I could see the pain in his eyes as he drew his blade, the man I we had saved now planned to kill me I don't care what his reasons were, he had no right to go around killing the people who had saved his life, a sudden bout of exastion came over me and could no longer hold the knife.
I dropped it and dropped my hands to support myself, when I looked up I realised I had made a huge mistake he had knelt next to me and was now holding the knife to my throat, I did not want to appear weak but the fear that there was nothing I could do now, that all he had to do was move his hand and my life was over overwhelmed me and my eyes began to blur with tears, I could feel my lip begin to quiver I did not want to die. elves are suppost to have long lives, so why was mine about to be cut so short......

"Bye the wolf, I can't do this!" I sheathed my dagger this girl was too young to be any real threat she was weak and broken, not like I had first seen her when I was in the same position she was strong and sweet, she had kept me company while I lay in that bed, they should have killed me but they let me go knowing full well I could run off and give away there presence here, and this one had so much trust in me that it hurt to think about what I had done only a few hours before. I picked up the boards holding her down and pulled her out, then hid her in the brush nearby this was the best I could do for her, hopefully she would regain her strength and escape.

I was still shaken by what that man had done, I was expecting him to come back at any time and finish the job but he never did I sat there for close to two hours before I was able to move, but I did not go to the woods I went to the spot my family had been fighting at, I fell to my knees at the sight they were all gone, laying there lifeless, I lost my strength all over again not from exaustion, I didnt know why I had but I decided I would just live my life shortly and just sit there until one of those men came and ended it.
I heard crying it seemed so distant but yet so close, I came back to my senses and ran to my mothers body, it was curled around my sister who still had life in her, I picked her up and with renewd energy I ran into the woods there were men searching here but Liya had quieted so I was able to slip past them with no real problems, I ran and ran until I was far away from that place, but now that I had stopped I didnt know what to do, I had escaped the danger of swords and arrows but now I had to worry about the food and weather, and there was no caravan sheild us now, how would I feed Liya, I could eat berries and the like, but Liya still needed liquids, I decided that I would have to take the chance of being caught again and lay Liya down in a tree top then shushed her to sleep. when that was done I made my way back towards the camp.
