"sixty three? That's just not believable, count them again." Gretha was wide eyes at the news.
"I already have sir, three times. The wardens, the men on the wall when it collapsed, and the few who died after the breach. Had Adaya not been here, they would have been much greater." I poured myself a drink, given, she did go against a orders, and had Yennefer looking as though she were about to blow, but she also protected those in the walls from harm. I wished she had come sooner truthfully.
"Well, were much better fighters than I had originally thought. A thousand against two hundred, and we still came on top, imagine that. How many prisoners?"
"Eighty nine sir. There is also a commander Roash among them, I thought you might be best suited to question him." I downed the last of my drink. "If there's nothing else sir, there is some buisness with my people that needs to be taken care of."

"hand me the green one." Liya ran up with the little green candle cover, I put it on the last one making the street light up with a hundred different colors, tonight it will be even more beautiful. I got down from my perch and headed towards the center, we had a stage set up so a band could play here tonight.
"everything's ready m'lady. Will you be singing tonight?" Garen looked at me expectantly.
"Believe me, you don't wanna hear my singing."
"But I already have, this morning while I was waiting for you. If you don't sing tonight I will have to call the guards and tell them you are hiding valuable resources." He had a playful smile on his face.
"And what valubles would I be hiding?"
"That voice." I rolled my eyes.
"Fine, one song is all I'll be doing though."
"Hey, as long as you don't try to hide your talents." He gave me a wink and walked away. I caught myself staring and turned towards the house, I need some time to myself.

" This is what I was talking about when I said I wanted freedom." I gestured around myself to the many colored candles, the streamers, the people surprisingly happy after an invasion. "not to mention it feels good to breath and not smell rotten potatoes, I expect my first party after escaping will be an excellent one." I fell back onto the soft dirt around a rose Bush, I picked one and began removing the thorns.
"Well, it's different from any party in the capitol, that's for sure." Artunous was leaning on the building examining his knife.
"I expect they were all too formal, yea?"
"Some, depends on who throws it. One I went to had a band from the lower rat streets, by far the best music I had ever heard. Though they were too rowdy for the woman who threw it, they were exacuted afterwards. Shame that was."
"She had them executed for being rowdy at a party?" That woman should be exacuted herself.
"Yes, the singer decided to take a bottle of the drengnal, he jumped from a balcony into my the pool, violin in hand. The bottle was gone I think he probably died long before the exacutioner got there."
"Hah you've obviously never seen a wood elf party. If that's the best story you have."
"Oh and what does a wood elfs party ussually consist of?"
"well your experience is the bare minimum of ours, though the best story I have is when one of the wenyat clan was dared to swim with a ashnolk, he lasted a whole two minutes before we had to pull him out, if I recall right it did eat his sword."
"do all the best stories include water?"
"Possibly, ask me again tommorow and I may tell you about how I got drunk and jumped from a dragons back. Or when a ranger joined us."

I finally made it to a station. None of the rest made it, we will need a far better battle plan next time, and the mages would have to die, those vines did a number on the attack, though who held such power?
"Captain Elyia, we must speak now."
