Adaya pov
"hahaha, no! I wouldn't want to have woke it." I was telling Garen of a time that I had gotten lost and unkowingly ventured into a dragons cave a few years ago, he asked if I had tried asking it for directions.
"Well it might have helped you, this world is full of strange things." He sat back against the headboard of the bed.
"Ok, I think I got them right." Liya walked in with a plate of cookies. The same kind I make for her, she loves them.
" Oh, let's see how good of a chef you are, shall we?" Me and Garen both took a cookie from the plate and bit into them. " Oh, that's good!" I said with my mouth still full.
"Addy, your supposed to chew them first." I took another bite and made a show of chewing it by opening my mouth all the way between bites. Liya threw one at me.
" Oh come now girls, siblings ain't suppost to fight." Me and liya both laughed at that.
" Your an only child aren't you?" His face redend in embarrassment.
"So, what about it?"
"You just don't understand it then." I said teasingly, ad in the sweetest voice I could muster.
"Yea, well....Ok I got nothing." We all laughed this time. "Alright then, come on m'lady, we've put off duties more than long enough."
I moaned, but got up anyway grabbing another cookie. "Liya, let's get you next door then."
Helena pov
"Laila, can you help out with the wall, they seem to be struggling over there." I pointed to where six men were trying to lift a stone atop the viney patch in the wall.
"Of course, don't forget to check the hunters, they seemed a bit antsy."
"Will do sis." I turned towards where the hunters were conversing with the dwarves.
" Oh, this is Helena. She is the current keeper of the caravans. Helena, this is Carrick he is the strategic planner for the dwarves." Delquin finnished his introductions. "I will gather the hunters, we've been waiting to hear from you." He walked off.
"Oy lass, I heard your also a planner, as well as a warrior." His voice was thick with the accent, it was oddly inviting.
"Well I'm no dwarf in battle, but I am skilled in a battle as far as I know. Oh and yes I am an excellent planner on the field as well."
"Ah, well we will have to put our minds together in the next battle lass, they will tremble at the thought." H e let out a belly laugh and took a swig of the flask at his side. Booze I expect.
"You think they'll try again?"
"Ay, that I do, they've been putting all resources into finding the wood elves, now that they know your here .......well lets just say you'll want that wall in pristine condition as soon as possible."
I inhaled deeply. "I will not put these people through a battle needlessly. I spose we should leave."
He laughed again. "Lassy, even if you leave they will attack anyway, this is a rebel headquarters. They want it gone. Your people can only help with the defenses if you are worried of the others."
I stood silent for a few moments. "Thank you strategist Carrick, now my hunters wait for me." I extended my hand for the dwarf.
He laughed at me again. "lass, I'm a dwarf, we do not shake the hands of beautiful women." He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Whoa, ok then..." It felt a little akward, hand shakes were new to me already. The only people we hugged were lovers and close family.
"Ill be seein ya lass, go talk to your warriors." He moved over to another dwarf and struck up a conversation. Well, he's freindly anyway.
I moved to the hunters, all huddled around a small fire awaiting my arrival. "We lucked out on this battle, I know, but even before the dwarves, before the ever helpful wall patch, you fought as I imagined my father's warriors of old did. I believe there will be another attack, not just for us, but because this is a rebel base as it was explained to me. So I ask you, Do you believe we should stay and fight, or hide as before? Do not answer now. Go to your home's and speak with your family and friends, tommorow I will visit you all for an answer." There are only eleven warriors, and my sister the mage, but more hunters will be trained, as well as others here, if we run though. That would surely kill us all.
"Helena! Come, the hunter allowed to work with the wardens, she lives." It was Haren.
"What?! Where?" Thank goodness she lives, she was by far the best hunter, even better than myself, not to mention a good friend.
"they've taken her to the healer, Adaya. She has asked of you." We ran to the house, if they took her to Adaya then she must be seriously hurt.
Adaya pov
I was pulled from helping to fix the walls and taken to my house, there an elf lay with a large gash across her back. It looked as though three swords had sliced into her, or a small Dragon. I rushed over to examine more closely.
The cuts went deep, I could clearly see her spine, the bloodflow had stopped for the moment due to a salve they had already spread across the wound. Though by the looks of the barely concious girl she had lost more than enough blood.
"Tell me your name." I opened a box of supplies for deep cuts, though this could have been an animal so I poured some liquids that would tell me if she had been poisoned.
"Sasha.......Fenset......." Her voice was barely audible, I would need to hurry. The liquids came out as black with red specks. A demon.
