As promised, Santos and I show up to the hospital to pick Juan up first thing this morning.
"Did you eat breakfast before we picked you up?" I ask Juan as I drive us home.
He shrugs. "I picked at what they gave me. Wasn't a fan of the food to be honest." he chuckles then quickly stops, grimacing.
"Are you in a lot of pain?" I cringe looking down at his arm that's in a sling then back to the road.
"Just when I move too quickly." he says.
"Well...don't." I shake my head, uncomfortable just by looking at him. "Slowly. Move slowly."
"Yeah, okay."
"I'll make us breakfast at home." I nod, keeping my eyes on the road. I feel his eyes on the side of my face, but I don't look over.

"Mama, mama," Juan shakes his head. "Estoy bien. Te lo prometo. No tienen que venir a LA. Adrianna me está cuidando."
He's on the phone with his Mother, we just finished having breakfast and Juan has finally gotten on the phone with his mom. I was honestly so worried and in my own head last night that I completely forgot to call her myself to let her know what happened after I got home from the hospital. And this morning I just rushed out the door with Santos when we went to go go pick up Juan. I'll call her to apologize for the lack of communication later."Well my moms on her way to LA." Juan chuckles, shaking his head.
"You love having her around, don't act like you weren't secretly hoping for her to insist on coming." I tease, standing from the chair at the breakfast table. I take Juan and I's empty plates and head for the sink.
I look over and he shrugs from his seat at the table. "I would've enjoyed spending this time with my family. You and Santos." my attention quickly turns back to my task at hand, I find myself scrubbing at the plate in my hand a little harder than before I heard him say that.
I don't mind Juan having to stay here while he fully heals, I'm just very nervous for how that's going to go for us. We haven't spent so much as an entire weekend under the same roof in a very long time. His mother and Manuela coming will actually take a lot of the pressure off my shoulders, I will welcome all the company in the world right now.
As soon as Juan and I got home his team was already in contact with him. They worked out a game plan of sorts as to how Juan is gonna go about wrapping up this whole tour. The doctor this morning let us know Juan is looking at 12 weeks of recovery minimum. Of course, he had to go and get one of the worst types of shoulder dislocations. A physical therapist will be coming by the house three times a week to help Juan in his recovery. Juan will resume the tour in exactly thirteen weeks. Fully healed or not.
We've been sitting in silence for a bit too long. I clear my throat, keeping my gaze in the dishes I'm washing. "I highly doubt your mother is going to be able to stand being away from home for longer than a week or two, and Manuela will go with her. We have twelve whole marvelous weeks to spend together." I finally look over at him, laughing lightly.
"Minimum." he holds a finger up, smirking.

"I know what a weird spot you and my brother are in..." Manuela breaks the comfortable silence that had fallen amongst us for a couple minutes now. "And my mom and I are only planning on being here for a few days, a week—week and a half, max depending on how much attention Juan really ends up needing. He already looks to be in pretty good shape." I agree. "So, if you can't handle Juan for this whole twelve-week thing plus the baby, plus your own career...Mami and I understand. We'll take Juan to Colombia, or we'll take turns changing weeks of being here with him. At his condo. We don't mind doing that at all. Just let us know."
