The next day you went back to the hospital. You had arrived a little earlier than initially planned, which was why Kirara wasn't waiting for you at the entrance. Since you had a lot of time to kill, you decided to walk around the hospital for a while. You'd already been here a couple of times before, so at this point the staff just assumed that you were there to see Misaki and Kirara, which was why no one came to ask what you were doing. Not that you were doing anything suspicious.
After some time, the sterile bleached walls quickly became stifling, so you decided to take a breather outside on the rooftop...which was off limits to the general public, since the main stairway to it is in the hero section. But Keigo suggested that you think things over someplace high, and you wanted to take his advice so you went anyway. You weren't bothered by anyone, even as you entered the hero section (if any member of the public entered these hospital areas without authorisation, they were given a hefty fine), which wasn't what you expected. But you ended up just assuming that there wasn't anyone around because there weren't any heroes receiving treatment.
In reality that wasn't the case at all, and you were wrong in that assessment. So very, very wrong. As you found out when you rounded the corner and came face to face with the flaming titan that is number one hero: Endeavour. It was weird seeing him without the flaming facial features and obnoxious hero costume. He looked like a regular, normal man. Almost.
The disfiguring scar that streaked through his left eye served as a permanent reminder of his battle with the nomu. Even though he received it after winning a seemingly hopeless battle and was lucky to have his eye come out unscathed, you had to admit that it was hideous to look at. You didn't mean to be rude and stare, but your morbid curiosity forbade you from tearing your eyes away from it.
Too much time passed as you stared at him and you became increasingly aware of how out of place you looked. It was becoming painfully obvious that you didn't belong here. Since you weren't wearing the staff uniform, you appeared a little suspicious being in the hero section and it was clear by the dubious look on Endeavour's deformed visage that he was thinking this as well.
Thinking of some sort believable excuse, you said quickly, "Pardon me, sir, I was just looking for a bathroom. Excellent job defeating the villains by the way- I got caught in a collapsing building and passed out while the action was happening. I'm told that my head injury is quite serious, the doctors say that my spatial awareness is severely impaired- half the time I don't even know where I am."
The dubious look slowly turned into one of genuine sympathy, and he said with calm authority, "I assume that you've been kept here if your injuries are as bad as you say. Why aren't you in a hospital gown?"
"I'm being discharged today so that my family can take care of me, the doctors say that being in a loving environment will speed up me recovery," You said, trying to sound as pitiful as possible; though it was all utter bullshit.
His immediate reaction was strange. You didn't know if it was because of what you said, or something else, but you saw Endeavour's face harden for a split second before going back to its neutral frown as he said, "I see. Still, you shouldn't be walking around like this, I'll call on a nurse to escort you back to your room."
"No!" you hastily yelled, making his eyebrows twitch in annoyance- not a good sign. While he was sympathetic of your made up condition, you could tell it was starting to wane, and if you dragged this out for too long, he'd soon lose his patience. So, to effort to wrap up the exchange, you started slyly slipping away from him, saying with as much confidence as you could muster, "I've been cooped up in there for ages, I just wanted some fresh air and a change of scenery, that's all. It was nice meeting you Endeavour, you're a great hero!"
