"Hey."

"Miss?"

"Wake up."

The dark haze clouding your vision clears as you stirred, spurred on by the impatient orders from the man in the passenger seat. He was looking at the rear view mirror, watching you struggle to a seated position in the middle of the back seats. Though still in a bit of a daze you began to take in your surroundings. You were still in the taxi, there was still three people inside, the blue-eyed man was still grumpy and you weren't moving...wait. The taxi had stopped.

"Get out here," he said, gesturing for you to open the door and leave. "This is the closest I can get you to the hospital, I'm not taking this detour any further."

Nodding, you slide over to the car door and place a clammy hand on the handle. With a grunt you were able to pry it open, letting your bodyweight do most of the work, however just a small gust of air is enough to get you reeling back. It was cold. Deathly cold outside. As if the night chill had increased in intensity during the ride here.

The man groaned upon seeing you dither. "Hurry up."

You heard him, and even though you almost didn't want to comply you slowly edged back to the door, practically crawling out of the vehicle. When you were halfway out your hand slipped and you fell face first onto the stone pavement, it wasn't all that painful but it shook you up a little. Struggling to get up, you hear the two men argue somewhat before another car door opens and you are gently helped to your feet.

It was the taxidriver, decked out in his own overcoat. You can't see his face because of the mask he's wearing, although underneath it there's a distinct dull grey- it seems unlikely that he's wearing a mask, so he must just have grey skin due to his quirk.

Even though you can't see his face you're still comforted by the gesture. As you're slowly pulled upright, you find yourself relying more and more on the stranger for support. Feeling a little more steady, you looked around to see where you actually were and was surprised to find that the buildings seemed quite familiar.

You ignored the men who had started arguing again to trail your gaze up to the skyline, one soaring structure looked familiar. Paved in glass, mirroring the chill night sky and echoing the vast cityscape. It was Keigo's apartment complex!

The driver felt you beginning to move and started to help you along. "Don't worry about him I'll help you partway, you're not in very good shape."

"Oh, thank you," you slurred. The apartment was only a few metres away, but any help to get there was welcome given the state that you were in. He stepped a paces ahead of you acting as a human walking stick, your footsteps slow and awkward. Almost as awkward as the long pause before you realised something. "Hey, you didn't say a contradicting statement that time."

"I know! That's been happening less and less recently" he said happily, even adding a little spring to his step.

This peaked your interest, you assumed it was part of his quirk, something he couldn't control. "How so?"

"You see Miss," he began in a calm voice. "I went through something awful quite recently- all of my friends did- but we all got through it together and got stronger."

His answer was vague to say the least, but said with such sincerity that it didn't really matter what happened to him, just that it allowed him to get to where he is now. You couldn't wait for all this to be over so that you could move on and 'grow' from it. "You do seem happy. How does getting stronger mean that you're able to speak normally?"

"Yes, I suppose so. No, I am not," he said, contradicting himself again. Baby steps, you figured. "And to answer that question: I sort of found myself during that hellish time, and now no longer have anything to fear. I finally feel whole, like every part of me has joined into one to achieve my goal."
