Your eyes fluttered open the next morning and found myself lying on the sofa with a jacket covering your upper body and your head on a couple of pillows. The morning sun shone through the gigantic window panes and into the vast room, bathing it in a warm golden light. Yawning, you stretched out like a drowsy kitten and slowly sat up, the jacket slumped down and you looked down to see that it was the one Keigo wore yesterday. The fact that he went back to his room to give you his jacket made you blush. A thought crossed your mind and you wondered why he didn't just put your coat over you, but since he went out of his way to get you pillows, he probably just picked it up on the way.
On the table was a note from him, an energy bar, a can of coffee, a pot of sugar and a key card, like the one Keigo used to get inside. You swung your legs off the sofa and onto the floor, accidently knocking over an empty orangeade can and picked up Keigo's note. It read:
Check your phone
Raising an eyebrow, you went into your coat pocket and brought out your phone. Scrolling through your notifications, you found a few new messages from Keigo and you opened them to read:
Keigo: Good morning Orchid. I'm guessing that it's going to be pretty late when you read this. Which wouldn't surprise me since we were at it for a while last night; it was a long time before you fell asleep. And just so you know, a creeper blew up part of the house, so when you have the time, you'll need to rebuild the potion room. Anyway, on the table is a little breakfast for you, sorry it's not much, but I didn't have a lot of time to get ready. Also, I know that you're not a fan of coffee, but if you put a lot of sugar in it, it'll be less bitter. Try it at least, it's one of my favourite brands.
You check the time on my phone and saw that it was around 11:30. Part of you worried for Keigo; you two did stay up way past 2, meaning that Keigo must have only gotten a few hours of sleep at best. Turning your attention to the food on the table, you reached for the energy bar and saw that it was made up of various nuts, fruits and oats, held together with honey. It was also bloody delicious. The coffee was also not too bad after many spoonsfuls of sugar, although you didn't like it enough to finish it. As you ate and drank, you kept reading the text.
Don't worry about going to get your stuff from your hotel, I've had it delivered to the apartment and it should arrive sometime in the middle of the afternoon. Feel free to make yourself at home, move around whatever you want in the study and make it however you like.
The first thing that came to mind was how in the world was he able to organise that on such short notice? Then again, he must have private deliveries taken straight to his doorstep all the time, so this was probably not too much trouble for him. Tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, you picked up the energy bar wrap, the fairly full coffee can and two empty soda cans and went to the kitchen while reading the last text message.
The last thing to mention is that I'm going to be away from the city for a few days on a mission. The card I left for you is a copy of mine, it'll let you into the apartment and give you access to the building's communal facilitates. I'll call you when I can, but in the meantime just text me if you need anything.
You decided that you shouldn't bother him on his mission, but made a point to call him at least once, just to check that he's ok. Throwing away the rubbish (he had different recycling bins for each type of waste which I thought was neat), you returned to the sofa and texted back:
Me: thank you and be safe out there keigo
And with that you were ready to start settling in. Until you quickly realised that without any of your stuff, there wasn't a whole lot you could do. So, you decided to wait for the delivery by generally tidying up the place using the cleaning products you saw in the storage room by the front door. You organised stuff in the kitchen, rearranging the messy collection of saucepans and cooking pots, cleaning the hob and kitchen top and making a note of what groceries to buy. You swept and dusted the various statues, taking the time to really look at them and...appreciate the art.
