Ra: Hello earthlings, welcome back to the story that was supposed to be about me 'The Almighty Sun God Ra' but instead it's about two weaklings dying for each other. They're supposed to save the world but instead, one gets killed saving the other who was distracted by fear of losing her. What an imbecile! (Later that day)
Y/N POV

After my duel, the gang hung out with us for a bit before leaving to find other opponents, as much as I wanted to duel Yugi I didn't want to waste one of our chips so I decided to wait for the finals. Leo already has ten-star chips while Serah has eight and I six. We were walking around looking for other opponents when I spotted Joey dueling Mai.
"Hey, guys look! Mai's dueling Joey," I told them.
"Hmm interesting, do you know why she's acting the way she is?" Serah asked.
"I'm not sure, I mean she was always kind to me so I don't understand why she's acting like this. It just doesn't make sense." I sighed.
"Sometimes a person can change due to their problems. We never know what someone is going through unless we put ourselves in their shoes. Even though she's operating as a high school means girl she still cheered you on at the end." Leo explained.
"How did she know you had Phoenix Force?" Serah asked.
"She didn't, she thought I was going to bring back Inferno Phoenix," I stated.
"Why didn't you? That would have won you the duel also not so?" Leo asked.
"Yup but I drew Phoenix Force instead. I told him.
We walk over to Mai and Joey's duel.

"Hey, guys how's it going?" I asked intrigued.
"Not good Joey's getting his butt kicked," Tristan stated.
"Yea and Mai's psyching him out!" Tea added.
"What do you mean?" Serah asked.
"Mai's been playing her cards without looking at them and it's doing a number on Joey," Yugi stated.
"Wow, so Mai's a psychic?" Leo asked intrigued.
"More like a phony!" I said.
"You don't believe she's a real seer?" Serah asked cocking her eyebrow.
"Nope, not for one second. If she were she'd know what card Joey was about to play before he played it." I explained.
"You're right Y/N!" Yugi exclaimed.
"What is that strong smell? Did you girls decide to wear your strongest perfumes today?" Leo asked scrunching up his nose.
"Leo you're a genius!" I told him.
"Really? How?" He asked confused.
"It's her cards that's how she can play without looking," I explain.
"I don't get it," Serah said confused.

Mai used cyber shield to juice up her harpy and attacked Joey's defense. Joey isn't thinking straight his focus is off and that could cost him the duel. Tèa and Tristan try to encourage him to stay focus and not give up. Mai told them to stay out of their duel and tried to use his friendship with Yugi against him. She reminded him there can only be one winner and asked where friendship stood then.

"Stay strong Joey don't listen to her!" Serah yelled.
"She's just trying to mess with your mind, you need to stay focus and have faith in your cards," I told him.
"So you're on his side now? I guess Rocky was right friendship is a foreign thing to you!" Mai snarled.
"That's not true and you know it! I consider you a very dear friend Mai but there's no way I'm going to stand here and watch you win by your little aroma trick!" I hissed back.

(Flashback Euro Championship)

I was up against the European Champion Raquel Santorini. My life points were way down only ten remained. She tore apart all my monsters no matter what combination I used. It was my turn, all I wanted to do was surrender after all, what's the use of fighting? She had her ultimate creature out and all I had was 'Knightmare Dragon' on my side of the field.
"So that's it! You're just going to give up? Have you forgotten how you got here? Was all that talk about faith in your cards a myth? What about your friends who you push to succeed even when the odds are against them, are you one of those people who talk the talk but never walk the walk?" Mai asked bringing me back to reality.
She's right I can't let Rocky's words get to me. It's time I practice what I teach.
"This duel is over Rocky say goodbye to your dragon. I play 'Reborn The Monster' to bring back my 'Inferno Phoenix Dragon' and I'll fuse it with my 'Knightmare Phoenix'. Now say hello to my 'Knightmare Inferno Phoenix Dragon'. Obliterate her Dragon my beast and strip away her remaining life points!" I ordered. Her dragon was defeated and her life points hit zero.
