Chapter 6: Spirit of the Ring

Joey: Welcome back ladies! Please remember Phoenix doesn't own anything besides her 'own' characters.

Tea: Let's continue with the story.

(Meeting Bakura)
Y/N POV

Yugi introduced me to Bakura who greeted me cheerfully. I saw Yami watching him closely with a serious look on his face. Joey told us he sometimes imagines it's him who's fighting during his duels slaying his opponent monsters. He thought it was dumb but Bakura asked him if he were which one of his monsters he'd want to be.
"That's easy the 'Flame Swordsman' (1800 ATK, 1200 DEF)  kicks everyone's butt," Joey confirmed.
"Not my guy the 'Cyber Commander' (700 ATK, 750 DEF) Tristan stated.
"Guess again 'Apollo'  (2800 ATK, 2500 DEF)" Leo said smirking with confidence.
Everyone except Serah and I were stunned.
"Don't you guys think this is a little silly comparing ourselves to playing cards?" Tèa asked.
"Not at all Tèa I think everyone has a card they can identify with, you should try and see if you have one you can identify yourself with," Yugi told her.
"Okay, I pick this one 'The Magician of Faith' (300 ATK,400 DEF)" She stated.
"You can't be serious!" Tristan exclaimed.
"More like Magician of freaks if yuh ask me," Joey agreed.
"Shut up!!" Tèa yelled making both Tristan and Joey flinch hugging each other and everyone else giggle.
"What about you Serah and Y/N?" Yugi asked intrigued.
"That's easy 'Athena' my Olympian Goddess of war (2600 ATK, 800 DEF)." Serah happily told him.
"And you Yugi?" Bakura asked.
"Dark Magician (2500 ATK, 2100 DEF) hands down," Yugi said making me smile.
"What about you Bakura?" Leo asked.
"It's this one," Bakura said showing us his Change of Heart card.
"Isn't that the Change of Heart?" I asked fascinated.
"It sure is!" Bakura said.
"I've never seen that card in action before!" Yugi stated.
"If you want to see it in action we can have a little duel right now not for star chips of course. Just for fun," He said making me feel nauseous all of a sudden.
"Why don't you all place your favorite cards in Yugi's deck so we can get started?" Bakura explained.
"Leo why don't you check on Mai she's been gone quite a while." Bakura explained but I knew he did that because of the special effect of his card 'Apollo', who can destroy all face-down monsters canceling their special effects on Bakura's side of the field.
"You're right! I'll go check on her. Good luck you guys!" He said as he pecked Serah's cheek and left.
"Y/N, you never told us what your favorite card is!" Yugi reminded me.
"You'll have to play it to find out!" I said while sending him a wink.
He smiled.

Everyone handed him their cards face up but I gave him mine faced down so Bakura won't know what hit him.
Before handing my card to Yugi, I raised it slightly towards Yami so he'd know what it was. His eyes widen when he saw what it was. Mahad explained to me that Bakura would trap our souls within our favorite monsters and take us to the shadow realm where he'll battle Yami for his puzzle. My bracelet and Serah's necklace will save us but for Bakura not to get suspicious of us, Phoenix will merge us with our cards the moment Bakura does the same with our friends. Right on cue Bakura shows us his millennium ring and then proceeds to merge the souls of our friends with their cards as does Phoenix with Serah and me. I give a small smile to Yami before everything goes black.

(Yami's Pov)

I look around at the lifeless bodies of Y/N and our friends. I can't believe Bakura did this. What does he expect to gain from this? Just then Bakura walks over to Serah and Y/N smirking.
"Such great beauties you two are it's a shame you waste your time with those fools. Leo and Yugi will never be able to treat you two the way you deserve to be treated. It's a pity my millennium ring can't make either of you fall in love with me." Bakura said to himself while looking at the girls. I glare at him. How dare he think about Serah and my Y/N like that!? I was brought out of my thoughts when he walked over to Yugi and attempted to take my puzzle. I took control of Yugi's body making Bakura jump.
