Next Morning

(Yami's Pov)

I gently placed the loose strands of her hair behind her ear trying my best not to wake her. She looks so peaceful and carefree laying here snuggled next to me. How I wish she could be like this all the time but unfortunately there's always someone to ruin things for us. I was so lost in thought while looking at her angelic face I didn't notice she was awake.

"Good morning, albi, did you get any sleeeep?" She yawned.
"Good morning, my beautiful wife. How could I when I spent all night looking after you my little Emerald," I teased.
"Albi, you need rest. How are you supposed to function without sleep? You must be tired," She said.
"How can I be tired? I'm a spirit remember?" I teased.
"That doesn't mean you won't get tired. Your mind needs rest, my love," She said cupping my cheek.
"I can't rest knowing you and our friends are in danger. We need to find out who's after us and put an end to their evil plan," I told her.
"You're right but to do so you need to think soberly and you can't do that without rest. Promise me you'll try and get some while you're in your soul room," She stated.
"Trust me, habibty, I'm fine," I protested.
"I wonder who's more stubborn between you and Seto. If there was a contest for the King of Stubbornness you'd both qualify and be top competitors as well," She stated.
"True, but you'd be the one wearing the crown," I smirked.
"You're lucky you're a spirit otherwise I'd..."

"Good morning lovebirds are you decent?" Phoenix asked.
"You know if you won't my brother's wife and I didn't mind getting scarred for life I'd ruin your intimate moments with him so you'd know how we feel when you do it," Y/N told her.
"Well, it's a good thing I'm his wife. Shouldn't you be getting ready to take your friends home instead of cuddling with your ancient Pharaoh?" Phee smirked.
"Ancient?" I asked amused.
"He doesn't look a day over eighteen," Y/N defended.
"Looks can be deceiving," Phee countered.
"Don't listen to her albi, she's just jealous she doesn't look as good as you," Y/N said playfully hugging me.

"Sweetheart are they up?" Mahad called.
"Yes, love, your sister's just giving me a migraine," Phee told him.
"Mana be nice," He warned.
"I'm always nice," She countered.
"Is that why you were arguing with Pharaoh?" Phee teased.
"We won't arguing. He's so focused on keeping us safe and stressed out over this new enemy that he refuses to rest," She stated.
"I'm fine habibty, like I said earlier, I'm a Spirit so I don't need rest," I told her.
"I'll always worry about you, albi, you're my other half. Spirit or not you need to take a time out and rest your mind so you'll be able to think clearly," She said.
"Are you two seriously arguing about this? I'm starting to think father was right about you two," Phee said.
"I agree, I know you're both concerned about each other's health and safety but try putting yourself in each other's shoes instead of telling each other what's the right thing to do otherwise your friends may have to stay here today," Mahad stated.

"Can you give us a minute? I promise we'll meet you outside soon," I told them.
"As you wish, Pharaoh," Mahad said bowing and leaving with Phee.
"Don't make me have to come back in," Phee warned as she closed the door.
"Habibty, I understand what you're saying but please bear in mind I can look after you and Yugi at all times without getting tired. As a Spirit, I don't get tired so I don't need rest," I assured her.
"I know albi but..."
"Why don't you tell me what's really bothering you, hmm?" I asked cupping her cheeks.
"I'm sc-ared," She whimpered.
"Of what's coming?" I asked as I felt her anxiety growing.
"Of los-ing yo-u," She said looking away from me.
"You won't lose me, habibty, I promise," I assured her.
"How can you be so sure? I can't lose you albi, I can't," She sobbed hugging me tightly. I rub her back gently as I tried my best to soothe her.
"You won't, I'll do my very best to ensure we stay together," I proclaimed.
"And what if you have to depart this world when this is all over? What happens then?" She asked.
"I'm not leaving without you, Y/N. I can't lose you either. You're my everything habibty," I told her.
"Promise?" She asked looking up at me through teary eyes.
"Promise," I assured her kissing her forehead.
