This past week was fairly uneventful. In all honesty, it was just filled with Ashton talking about Meghan, which was pretty cute- but Luke suggested hanging out Friday night, so that's what's been getting me through all of these slow days of academic torture.

"So, what should we do tonight?" I ask as I set my phone down on my bed.

"I don't know, should I have planned something? I was thinking I should but I wasn't sure if you had anything planned so I just kinda spent all of my time thinking if you were planning that I forgot to plan," Luke rambles. We've fallen into a small habit of calling each other as we're getting ready in the morning and just setting our phones on speaker so we can hear each other.

"You could've just asked," I chuckle as I pull an oversized plain grey t-shirt over my head.

"Oh well, it's already Friday so it's too late now," He laughs.

"We could stay in and watch a few movies or something. We could also go out and get dinner or go to the park or something," He trails off trying to think of more specific ideas. We both stay silent for a moment, trying to brainstorm.

"My parents are hosting a party tonight," I blurt.

"A party?" He asks.

I weigh the pros and cons of going in my mind. I don't want to go, but it's my parents' party, so I kind of have to. It'd be nice to have some good company for once. I slide on my black running shorts and reach for my socks.

"Yeah, it won't be too big, but we don't have to go. If you don't want to, that is," I explain, "I could always try to get out of it."

I don't particularly like the idea of going to a party. I never have, actually. I'm great in small groups, but there's a lot of people at parties and I just feel out of place. Crowds also scare me more than they should, so there's the added fear that comes with that situation.

"No, I think it'll be fun," Luke says. I can practically hear his smile as I pull on and lace up my white Converse high-tops.

"Really?"

"Yeah, why not," He chuckles.

"Okay, that sounds great!" I smile, not dreading the party as much as I was.

"I'm leaving now, so I'll see you in ten?" Luke asks.

"See you in ten," I confirm and end the call as I make my way downstairs.

I pour some goldfish crackers into a sandwich baggy and make a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich. I put them into my lunch bag and add in a Capri-Sun and a packet of fruit snacks. I stuff the lunch bag into my navy backpack and Luke knocks on my door. I can tell it's him because he knocks to a rhythm. Rolling my eyes, I open the door, lock it behind me, and follow Luke out to his car.

"I like this look," Luke gestures to my clothes. I normally don't put effort into my clothing choices for school, because well, it's school not a damn runway. I'm too tired to put a lot of effort into my appearance for school.

"I call it 'the epitome of fashion' by Emily Smith," I say in a dramatic voice.

"It looks good," He smiles. I roll my eyes and a few minutes later of singing along to the radio, we arrive at school.

As Luke and I are walking up to the school's courtyard, where we always meet with Ashton and Meghan, we notice that only Ashton is there.

"Where's Meghan?" I ask.

"She's rehearsing with Chris in the theatre room," Ashton shrugs.

"Oh," I say, "Sorry, Ash."

"I'm fine," He smiles, "It just kind of sucks, but I'll be fine."
