I woke up to flowers.

Not in the good way, though. I'm talking bouquets of lilies and roses being shoved into my tired face.

"Which one?" Noelle, my sister, frantically asks.

"What?" I groggily try to make sense of the situation.

"Which bouquet is better?"

"The lilies." I try to cover my head with my comforter.

"Are you sure, because I like the roses," Noelle pulls the comforter all the way off of the bed, leaving me cold and with nothing to cover myself with.

"Then get the damn roses!" I say irritated with no blanket.

"But what if the lilies are better?"

"Can this wait until I'm actually dressed and awake?" I groan.

"Fine, I'll be downstairs." Noelle snaps and storms out of my room.

Finally, relief flows over me.

I stare at my ceiling and debate actually going downstairs. On the plus side, I can get food, a drink, and actually get on with my day. On the down side, I'll have to deal with Noelle, I'll have to get on with my day, and not to mention I'll have to deal with Noelle.

I can't handle her anymore.

Might as well get it over with, I take a deep breath and walk out of my bedroom and downstairs to the kitchen.

"Honey, the roses look lovely." My mother smiles at Noelle.

"That's what I was thinking!" Noelle smiles, "Meghan said she likes the lilies, but I want roses."

Then why did you fucking ask me for my opinion?

"Then roses you'll get, my dear." Mother sighs adoringly.

Rolling my eyes, I pour a glass of milk and begin to walk back to my room.

"Oh, Meghan, dear?" Mother's voice makes me stop right in front of the kitchen door.

"Yes?" I turn around.

"Don't forget you start for your new job today!"

I nod and exit whilst inside I'm screaming my lungs out. I completely forgot about that damn job. I'm working as receptionist for some upscale café in the local airport. Looking at my phone, I realize that I have twenty-five minutes to get dressed and drive myself to the airport.

Hurriedly, I slide on my dark skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and my red converse. I decide to put my dark brown hair into a high ponytail and I quickly wing my eyeliner and put on a layer of red lipstick.

"Later!" I shout as I run down the stairs and out the front door.

The drive to the airport is uneventful. The highway is almost empty because hardly anyone goes to the airport before seven in the morning on a Sunday. With five minutes to spare, I'm walking quickly into the airport, attempting to find the café and thanking my lucky stars that I'm on time.

"Meghan?" A woman's voice asks.

I turn to find a middle-aged woman in a black dress and her perfect red hair in a classy french twist.

"Yes, ma'am?" I smile.

"Welcome to Café Dimanche," She grins, "We are in desperate need for a receptionist to be out front, so I'm ecstatic to see you!"

"It's nice to meet you." I smile and shake her hand.

"I'm Darcy, by the way." She adds politely.

I nod and she eyes my outfit.

"I'm afraid we forgot to tell you about our employee dress policy," She frowns, "I'm so sorry, I knew I forgot something. We have some dresses in the back."

I follow her into the elegant room decorated with black and gold accents and filled with the smell of overpriced coffee. We walk into the small employee's lounge at the very back of the café, where a rack of black dresses stands in the corner.

"Please, take any one you like. It's on us, you know, considering I forgot to tell you about the dress policy." Darcy smiles apologetically.

"Thank you so much." I gape at the gorgeous dresses. Darcy leaves me to pick a dress and I soon choose a dress with a sweetheart neckline and a skater skirt. Looking at it in the mirror, I smile. It hugs all the right places and I truly feel beautiful in it. Walking out, Darcy nods in approval.

"You're shoes are okay for today, but from now on you need some heels, alright? Either nude or black works."

"Thank you." I smile.

Over the next half hour, Darcy teaches me the important tasks of a receptionist and I pick up the skills fairly fast. It's a fun job, but I'm really just answering phones and making reservations for people. I like it, though, so that's good.

Hopefully, something good happens while I'm working here.
