"Where are we going?" I ask, glancing at Luke curiously. He keeps his grip on the steering wheel but turns and gives me a goofy grin.
"You'll see," He smirks.
"No," I whine, "Tell me!"
"I'm not telling," Luke shakes his head.
"Please?" I jut out my lip and bat my eyelashes.
"Nope."
"Aw, c'mon Lukey," I continuously poke at his cheek. He smiles and makes his dimple more prominent, "You know you want to tell me."
"It's a surprise," Luke giggles as I keep poking him.
"Why do you like to never tell me where we go?" I ask, pouting slightly and looking out the passenger window.
"Because you're cute when you're confused."
I turn back to Luke and I see him glance at me and then blush. I smile and poke his cheek slightly, "You're cute, too."
Before Luke can say anything, he brakes suddenly. I raise an eyebrow at him questioningly. He blushes as we drive in reverse, "I went past my driveway."
"Your driveway? As in we're going to your house?" I ask.
"Yes," Luke chuckles, "Believe it or not, it's been, like, over five months and you haven't been over to my house. It's time you come to le maison de Luke."
I roll my eyes and he continues on, "I also have a surprise."
"A surprise?" I raise my eyebrow. He smirks and gets out of the car. I follow suit and I catch up to him in front of his door. He wraps an arm around my shoulder and smiles, "Let's go inside."
I nod and he opens the door. I follow him into the large entryway. Its walls are painted a soft white color and it's high ceiling and abundance of natural light gives the room a very calm feel. I love it immediately.
"Luke?" A woman calls.
"Yeah, mom?" Luke takes his arm from around my shoulder, but laces his fingers with mine instead. He leads me into the kitchen, where a blonde woman is writing down something on a piece of paper as she looks into the fridge.
"Sorry, I'm just getting the grocery list done so your father can go to the store," She says without turning around.
"It's fine, how's your day been?" Luke leans against the counter behind us. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer so that I'm leaning on the counter right next to him.
"It's been good," His mom answers before turning around. She starts to give Luke a smile, but stops once she sees me.
"Luke Robert Hemmings, why didn't you introduce me?" She scolds Luke.
"Sorry," Luke laughs, "Mom, this is Emily. Emily, this is my amazing 29-year-old mom."
"Kissing ass won't get you anywhere," She rolls her eyes and smiles at her son. She then turns to me, "Please, call me Liz."
"It's nice to meet you," I smile.
"It's nice to finally meet you, too, dear," Liz smiles back.
"Finally?" I ask.
"Oh, Luke is just always talking about you, and it's nice to finally have a face to go with a name. He's always saying stuff like-"
"Aren't introductions fun," Luke interrupts loudly.
"Luke, don't interrupt your mom," I playfully swat at his arm.
"I like her," Liz says to Luke as she points to me, "Keep her."
