"Do you think I was too harsh?" I ask quietly, biting the inside of my lower lip nervously. Through the dim lighting of the airplane due to how early it is this morning, I keep my gaze focused on Luke and I's intertwined fingers. Luke, who's sitting on my left, sighs, causing my head to rise and fall with him since I'm resting my head on his shoulder and he's resting his head on mine.

"No, I just think you cussed a lot," Luke chuckles.

"I'm serious," I hold back a laugh, "Was I too rude? I mean, Ashton needed to hear what I told him, but maybe I could've been nicer about it."

"I think you just got tired of him acting like what he's doing isn't hurting anyone and you had to get your thoughts out of your system. It's understandable."

I hum in acknowledgement and squeeze his hand.

"Great analogy of the Prince Charming thing," Luke laughs quietly.

"Oh, shut up, it was a spur of the moment kind of thing," I blush.

"I do have a serious question, though."

"What is it?" I ask.

"What exactly is a 'bitch ass noble steed'?" Luke takes his head off of mine, looking at me, unable to control his laughter.

"Lucas, I will go to the back of the plane and convince the old lady sitting next to your mother to switch seats with me," I glare up at him.

"No," He whines, letting go of my hand and wrapping his arms tightly around me. He hides his face into the crook of neck, "Don't leave me."

"I don't know, Luke, your mom wouldn't treat me like this," I sigh dramatically.

"Em, don't leave," He laughs, his warm breath hitting the skin on my neck.

"I can't promise anything, Luke," I chuckle at how clingy he's being. It's adorable. He moves his face from my neck and looks at me with a small pout.

Suddenly, the plane goes through some rough turbulence, causing everyone to shake. My breath hitches and I immediately hide my face in the crook of Luke's neck, wrapping my arms tightly around him, bringing my knees to my chest and curling into him. I try to calm my nerves, but my heartbeat won't slow down. I breathe, "Okay, okay, I won't leave."

"Does turbulence scare you?" Luke looks down at me with a slightly amused look on his face.

"Maybe," I mutter lamely into his neck, "But then again what's scary about being trapped in a shaking hunk of metal that's thirty thousand feet in the air?"

"Don't worry, I've got you," Luke kisses the top of my head, "As long as you don't leave."

"But your mom and I are best friends," I giggle, looking up at Luke.

"Please don't choose my mom over me," he tightens his grip around me, "You know, I really never thought I'd have to say that to a girl."

"How many girls have had to choose between you and your mom?" I laugh.

"Well, as of right now," Luke counts on his fingers and looks like he's doing mental math, "Yeah, according to my calculations, you're the first."

"You're such a dork," I giggle, rolling my eyes.

Luke smiles brightly at me and starts to say something but he's interrupted by the old man sitting next to me sighing, "Can you two keep it down? It's early and I'm really tired."

"Of course, We're sorry for disturbing you" I hold back my laughter as Luke quietly groans.

"Shh," I whisper to Luke as I playfully swat at his arm.
