"I can't believe you," I gasp as I brush the uncomfortable flour off of my arms.

"I can't say that I'm sorry," Ashton laughs. I step forward with a grin and grab his hands. He intertwines our fingers and we stand there extremely close to each other. I can feel his soft breaths and before I know it, I can feel the both of us leaning in even closer. I begin to slowly close my eyes when I'm startled by the kitchen door opening.

"Uh, am I interrupting something?"

I jump back in surprise and my cheeks begin to heat up. I hear Ashton take a deep breath and we both keep our eyes focused on the ground.

"I can come back another time," The new voice trails off.

"No, no, it's fine," Ashton says quickly at the same time I say, "You weren't interrupting anything."

"Oh, okay," The boy in the doorway nods. We all stand around awkwardly and it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

"What'd you need?" Ashton asks after a minute or so.

"I just needed to get that script from you, if that's okay," He gives a faint smile.

"Oh, yeah, of course," Ashton nods, "It's in my bag, I'll go get it."

He begins to leave the kitchen but stops suddenly and turns around, "Meg, this is my friend Chris. Chris, this is my best friend Meghan."

With that brief introduction, Ashton leaves the kitchen, leaving me and Chris awkwardly standing around. Chris is taller than me, he seems to be about the same height as Ashton, maybe an inch or two taller. He's wearing a navy sweater, khaki skinny jeans, and black converse. He dresses somewhat similarly to Ashton and Luke, so it's not a shock that Ashton's befriended someone like Chris. He has clear grey eyes and his chocolate brown hair is pushed back into a small quiff. Chris even somehow manages to make thick black squared glasses look good. He's definitely not bad looking.

"You can come in," I chuckle. He looks up and blushes before nodding and closing the door behind him. I smile a little before asking, "What script were you looking for?"

"It's for Beauty and the Beast," He replies.

"You're auditioning for the musical?" I raise an eyebrow.

He nods and asks, "Are you?"

"Yeah, I was thinking about it," I shrug.

"You're in Ashton's class, right?," He pauses and I nod, "I thought so. I sat in on one of your classes before and I thought you looked familiar."

I feel my cheeks heat up and he grins, "Yeah, I definitely remember you. You were great."

I roll my eyes and he smiles before nervously looking at the ground, "I mean it, and hey, if you do decide to audition, maybe we could run lines sometime."

"That'd be nice," I smile. He looks up and blushes, making me chuckle. We stand there smiling at each other in a comfortable silence for a few moments until we're snapped out of our daze.

"Found it!" Ashton comes back into the kitchen holding his script above his head.

"Thanks, man, you're a lifesaver," Chris grins as Ashton hands him the script, "I've gotta get going, but thank you."

"No problem," Ashton smiles.

"It was nice to meet you, Meghan," Chris turns to face me before he closes the door.

"It was nice to meet you, too. Oh, and Chris?"

"Yeah?" He pauses.

"See you at auditions?" I smile.
