Few years ago

Hunter heard a knock at his door, he called out to the person on the other side to let them know they can come in. Hunter wasn't thrilled to listen to his mother at this moment.

An argument between his mother, father, and him had just ended. So that means she's trying to make peace with the family...again.

"I know you don't want to speak with me, but I need you two to stop this...you are Father and Son!" she pleaded.

"I can understand why you don't want this to happen." He growled at his own anger, it nearly got the better of him, "but there's no point." He coldly stated.

"He kills animals." He took a deep breath, "and I will stop him, one day I will." Hunter got up from his bed and sighed.

"He named me 'Hunter' because he thought I could potentially become a monster like him." The look Hunter gave his mother was a desperate plea to correct his allegation, but there was no such lie.

"Yes...yes, he did." she said sadly.

"Well I'll become the greatest hunter on planet earth." Hunter stared at a picture of his family, "but instead of hunting animals; I'll be hunting the most vicious and ruthless creatures on the planet..." He told his mother coldly.

"What exactly are you talking about?" she hesitantly asked.

"I'm not gonna kill anyone or our fellow animals." He said truthfully, he knew she'd think he would be hunting and killing people, but he's not gonna kill. He will never do such a thing, he will only prove to poachers that humans are the easiest prey for any predator.

"I'm sorry you married a man so foolish." Hunter heard his mother walk out of the room.

Hunter never wanted to be treated like a child, he was always more mature and smarter than everyone in his school, even if he didn't show it. He says what's on his mind to people who act stupid with him, and that's how most of these arguments happen.

Until eventually one day...it stopped.

...

Hunter was laying across the couch, the other side of the couch to be exact because Yasmina and Sammy has taken the other half.

The doors are suddenly pushed to the sides when Darius slides into the room. "What up Camp Cretaceous!? woohoo!" Darius shouted.

"Not in a 'woohoo' mood this morning" Kenji said from his chair, "not after yesterday, trekking through a rainstorm, will do that." Kenji grew more annoyed by the second, so was Hunter because Ben kept slurping up the last bits of liquid from his juice box.

"Rain ain't bad." Hunter muttered quietly.

Here we go again. Ben retaliated against Kenji's remarks and soon after he hides behind Darius because of the glare Kenji threw at him.

"Sorry, D." Hunter sat up from the couch, wasn't that comfy anyways.

"Even I, myself, am not feeling the action to have fun." Hunter said, he tried hiding his raspy voice, but apparently it doesn't want to leave so soon.

Hunter stretched every part of his body when he stood up, even now he feels as though his body is telling him to rest.

"Is that a dinosaur emoji with a thumbs up?" Darius asked confused, Hunter wasn't paying attention to what he was saying before.

"Trust me, I didn't understand it at first too." Hunter said while walking over to lean against the table behind him.

"—when was the last time you've even seen a crayon!?" Kenji said irritated. Hunter starts to think that he needs some more rest, he's unconsciously ignoring people, he do that purposely but never accidentally.
