(This is what everything has been leading to, this is only the beginning.)
The beautiful starry night had distracted Hunter from his fellows campers who were conversing in the main area of the treehouse. He was laying in his hammock with his hands behind his head, he could hear every word that left their mouths.
Strangely enough he could hear nearly everything at the moment, he thinks he had been zoned out of his body.
The past day he has seen an Ocelot around the camp, but only when he zones out. Or it could be something trying to prepare him, trying to warn him. He took a deep breath and started to speak quietly, so only he can hear himself.
"Are you here?" Hunter asked quietly.
No response.
"Are any of you listening up there?" Hunter asked, a hint of sadness and shame in his tone and expression.
He was asking if anyone from his family was listening, if this was a dream they would've answered, if they didn't...he would know this is really happening.
Hunter scoffed and turned over on his side, he didn't close his eyes though, he didn't want to sleep. He did miss the bizarre answer from the stars...the answer from all of his ascended family members.
The stars had shifted into outlines of various different felines, nearly all of them showed shame. The different feline outlines varied in color; Orange being Fire, Brown-tanish color was Earth, greyish white was Air, and light blue was water.
There was only one Jaguar present.
A particular trio of felines were closest to the Jaguar, the rest of all the felines were spaced out from them.
A Lion, a Leopard, and a Siberian Tiger.
Before Hunter had turned over to his back and see them, they had vanished. Hunter stared back up at the starry night sky and sighed.
"No one in this family has ever listened to me anyway," Hunter said out loud.
The others must've heard him because they tried getting him to join their 'bonding time' as Sammy likes to call it. "Hunter, come on bro! Join us!" Kenji called out to him.
"Tell us more about what your adventures!" Sammy beamed as always, it had gotten a little cold so she had her jacket on, but with the fire she realized it was getting a little to hot now.
Before Hunter gave them a sad no, Brooklynn spoke up. "Come on, Hunter, where's the harm in hanging out with the only people on the island?" Brooklynn giggled, "You scared of us more than you are of dinosaurs?"
Hunter playfully scoffed and rolled out of his hammock, landing perfectly on two feet and walking over to them. "Hey, I ain't scared of anything," Hunters eyes were closed the entire walk over.
"I'm just too aware of eve-" he opened his eyes and immediately realized his fellow campers have disappeared.
"Not again..." Hunter thought to himself.
"Guys, this better not be a prank," Hunter spun around to scan his surroundings, "I'll use my knife if I have to, and I don't think you guys want to-"
He stepped on something, his head snapped down to stare at what he had stepped on. It was Sammy's jacket, he heard her taking it off while he was walking over.
"Guys...?" Hunter whispered as he crouched down and grabbed the jacket with one of his hands.
He sniffed the jacket, almost like a cat or a dog. His eyes suddenly grew as large as elephant feet, he recognized this faint smell. It was not even close to Sammy or any smell from the jungle.
