Chapter 5
I thought the most unexpected thing of the day was gone but I guess I was very, very wrong.
The doorbell rang, i went to open it and Lola stood in the entrence. Her dress was ripped down the side and her make-up was smudged all around her face. I would never say it to her face but she looked like a panda "I was AT DA PARTAY!" Lola shouted.
"Shut up! What the hell are you doing here?"
"Wow budy! Why you bein' so uptight uh?" She slurred. "Didn't you get to go! Aw poor baby Kriss." She smiled putting a baby voice on, oh she will regret this later.
"You're lucky I'm not the type of person to record this and put it on YouTube." She rolled her eyes.
"It would be really popular and then I'd just get famous." She tried to tease me but I really couldn't be bothered.
"Ugh, come on then." I side stepped so she could walk past, she did while pulling out a bottle of vodka from somewhere under her clothes. By now Ash had wondered into entrance and was staring right at Lola. She was staring right back at him, and I know my friend when she's drunk, for some reason she just does stupid thing. I put my arms in between them "not tonight love birds"
"Speaking of love birds, Gavin was at the party?" Lola turned her eyes to mine for a second before back to Ash. "Did I mention my name was Lola." She smiled at him.
"Wait did you say Gavin?" I butted in, speaking in a high voice.
"Why does it even matter?" Ash asked sounding annoyed, but still eyeing my best friend. I sighed and ushered them into the kitchen, I made us all coffee and sat myself in between Lola and Ash at the table. Suddenly someone knocked on the door, all three of us jumped in shock but then Lola giggled - obviously still drunk. "Who is that?"
"I'm not expecting anyone..." I trailed off
"Check through the curtain before you open the door." I nodded t Ash before walking through my house and to the front door. I opened it to see a police man standing in front of me.
"Hello Miss," he began "we're looking for a Mr Ash Jones, have you any information on the suspect?"
"Oh...um...I think he goes to my school but I can't be sure."
"A witness spotted him near your property, do you know anything about this?"
"No, of course not" I bluffed "but I'll go check with my parents, two seconds." I said half jogging to the kitchen "Guys it's a policeman" Ash looked like he was suddenly constipated and Lola just looked drunk. He stood up pushing his chair back then stumbled to the backdoor.
"I need to go" he said
"Me too then" Lola agreed
"Woah, calm down. Why are you going?" I didn't get the answer i was looking for because the policeman walked in. Ash and Lola were already out the door before I took another breath. I felt like I had no other choice to follow them, I pushed open the door and let in slam behind me, leaving the policeman in the kitchen. I was catching up to Ash and Lola when the door swung open and close again and heavy footprints were following us. I court up to Ash and Lola and tried to ask them what the plan was between breaths. The police man was hot on our trail so we took some turns down alleys to loose him but he kept on following us. I was so unhealthy, I was not going to be able to carry on much longer.
"We need to get a taxi" they both nodded and once we were on a fairly busy street we stopped for less than a second and called over a cab. We got inside, I ended up I'm the front and the other two were in the back seat. I handed the driver fifty pound - I was really going to miss that - and he drove away leaving the policeman behind us.
We all sighed in relief "Thank God!" I huffed but Lola and Ash didn't reply, I turned my head towards them and wished I could forget what I'd seen. Ash had his hands round my friend and they were kissing each other with tongues. I felt a wave of sickness wash over me. I turned to the taxi driver "Are they aloud to do that?" I asked.
"To be honest people aren't supposed to do it in any taxi but people do all the time." He answered, his voice sounded familiar.
"But does it annoy you?" He chuckled then nodded and I couldn't help but agree with him.
Around half an hour later the cab pulled over and let us out, Lola stumbled out making sure she had her bottle of vodka which was now three quarters empty. "Let's go to my house!" Lola screamed.
I shook my head "Are you sure that's the best idea?"
Ash took the bottle, had a drink then gave it back to Lola "why not?" He asked
I rolled my eyes knowing it as pointless to argue with them. We walked to Lola's house, I fished the key Lola gave me for her house and unlocked the door. We were as quiet as possible and went on the sofas in the living room then fell asleep almost instantly once we'd settled.
- hope you liked this chapter, I found this quite funny to write but I'm not sure if it is funny, maybe it's just a bit random. Oh well, thank you for reading this.
