Chapter 32
"But if you're such a good match maker, why am I still single?" Lola whined at Evie.Yep, we're still on this conversation...
We've been walking down this road for the past ten minutes and this is all it's been."Lola, you've never even asked for my help before. I'm a match maker not a mind reader."
"Are you sure?" Lola continued. "Even if you're not a psychic, please match me up with someone soon?"
"Well I don't know it might be impossible..." Evie trailed off. Lola didn't say anything but batted her eyelashes pleadingly and pouted. "Fine. I'll try to match you up with someone, just stop doing that."
"Yay!" Lola let out a squek of joy and started humming something to herself happily.
"At least she's happy." I whispered under my breath.
"Huh?" Gavin asked. "Did you say soemthin' Kriss?"
God he has good ears, but I'm a better liar. Or at least I think I am. "Nope, why?"
"Oh, no reason, I just thought I heard something." I looked over at Gavin, his arm was hung over Marvin's shoulder. They're such a cute couple, I can't help but wonder what me and Ash would be like.
We've never really had a chance to be coupley. I mean, as soon as we started dating he...left. I know he didn't want to but I can't help feeling unsure of him, of everything. What if he comes back next month and decideds to brake up with me, what if he doesn't miss me at all, what if he meets a better girl than me in Bulgaria?
No Kriss. Stop. Stop torturing yourself.
"Guyyyyyys, how long until we get to Evie's?" I moaned.
"Um, let's see." Evie paused, gathering her bearings "It's just around this coner, so five minutes."
"Okay, thanks." I said.
"Just so you guys know, Toby and Cat will be there."
"Oh yea, they were those people that were invited to that thing in town, right? "I agreed
"Yea, they are!" Evie smiled and pulled me to the side of the group to tell me something. "Kriss, I'm here to talk anytime if you want to, you know, about Ash." I nodded casually.
Before I knew it we were walking inside Evie's house. Just as she had said before, Toby and Cat were already there. They were both casually sprawled across one of Evie's sofas having a nap. Evie jogged up to them and woke them up with a loud "Oi!" shout.
It was hilarious to watch them scramble all over the sofa and get themselves tangled into a mess together. "Evie what the fu-" Who I presumed was Cat paused and looked around. "Who are these people?"
Evie face palmed herself impatiently "Cat, you've met 'these people' before. Don't you remeber? Wow, how are you so forgetfull. You and Toby have both met Marvin, Kriss, Lola and Gavin before. It was a week or so ago, com'on guys why are your memories so bad when your sleepy!"
"Hey," Toby finally spoke up. Wow, I'm glad he did. I mean I like Ash so much and all but Toby's voice is amazingly hot. "you're memory isn't that good when your tired either."
Evie shrugged, defeated "I guess."
Gavin cleared his throat "We actually haven't met, I didn't go to that event," He turned to Marvin for a second and Marvin mouthed an "I'm sorry" at him. "so...nice to meet you, I'm Gavin."
"Hiya, I'm Cat and this is Toby." Cat clarified for him.
"Well never, that's not obvious." Evie rolled her eyes.
"So anyway, are we gonna order some pizza or something?" Gavin urged.
+++
"So how long have you two been dating?" I asked Cat while digging into a slice of pepperoni pizza.
"Me and Toby!" She replied trying not to choke on her own pizza. "Me and Toby aren't a thing, he has a girlfriend." I nodded in reply, words were not an option at that moment because my mouth was overstuffed with delicious pizza. "Yea his girlfriend's name is Jannet."
"She sounds like a lot of fun." It was hard to speak with a mouth still half full with pizza but I managed to get the words out. "What's she like?"
"Um, no she's uh, yea Jannet's great." She said unconvincingly.
"Wow, totally believe you." I laughed. "It's sounds like he has more relationship trouble than me."
"What's wrong?" Cat sounded concered, she's a good person to talk to. It's genuinely nice to meet people with that personality trate.
"Well, my boyfriend has gone to Bulgaria for a month so thats rubbish."
She nodded "I see. But why don't you have a little fun with someone else? What about one of them two?" She gestured to Gavin and Marvin.
"Ha ha ha.....please tell me your kidding, right? I mean first of all them guys are in a relationship, together. And secondly I really like Ash, so so much.
"That's good." Cat smiled and her cheeks turned a rosey colour. "I love it when couples are together. There's Gavin and Marvin, and you and Ash." She sighed happily. "I love when people actually love eachother."
"Woah there, I never said-"
She cut me off "Yes you do, it's totally obvious. I bet he's all you've been thinking off all day, all week even, am I right?" I was dumbfounded. "What can I say, you pick up things when you're best friends with the match maker."
