Lola's POV
Chapter 27
Ash had offered to drive my car when I'd picked him up, I wasn't even aware he had his driving license, Kriss didn't even have hers yet.
Ash's phone started vibrating suddenly, "Can you get that, please?"
I nodded and picked up the phone straight away.
"Hey, Ash I wante-"
"Kriss?" Oh god why do I always forget to look at the silly caller ID!?
"Lola?" She said "Where's Ash, why are you answering his phone?" I covered the phone with my hand and turned to Ash.
"It's Kriss and I think she wants to speak to you." I whispered really quietly. He vigorously shook his head. I took my hand off the phone "Kriss, Ash is driving right now so he can't speak to you, I can pass on a message though?"
"Um, no thanks. But why are you two together? Are you, you know, toghether as a.. er.. couple?" She asked.
"What?!" I turned to Ash and covered the phone again. "She thinks we're a couple, what should I say?"
"Say that we are." He half smiled.
"What?!" I whisper shouted at him, I took my hand off the phone again. "Um, yeah, we are a couple, we you asking?"
I heard a small "Oh." From the phone, oh my god what is going on? "Can you pass on a message, 'I knew it'." And then she hung up, what was that all about?

"So you want me to be your pretend girlfriend?" Ash nodded but didn't say a word. "For how long?"
He shrugged his shoulders and looked down at the steering wheel, I'd made him pull up and stop the car as soon as Kriss' call had finished but he hasn't said one single word, even when I passed on Kriss' message. Not that I have any idea what her message meant.
"If it wouldn't be too much trouble would you mind? Just for a while. It seems really...strange, I know." He asked.
"I'm happy to help." I smiled, then wrapped a piece of my long wavy hair around my finger and batted my eyelashes at Ash jokingly. "I hope I'm good enough at acting to pretend to be in love."
