Chapter 12
Thursday came around quicker then I thought it would. School was easy and thankfully all the teachers believed my excuse as to why I wasn't in school on Monday. Luckily I had no homework for the weekend so my parents allowed me to go to the fair today. The fair was nearer my house so we planned Lola would stay at mine for a sleepover.Lola's parents were back now and they gave us a ride from school to the fair. "Bye." Lola waved as her parents drove away.
"Hey." Gavin stood infront of me and Lola, his beautiful green eyes shinned perfectly in the blue coloured light we were in.
"Hi" I smiled like an idiot at him.
"So where are we going first?" Lola asked looking at me and Gavin.
"I think we're all meeting at the merry-go-round."
Waiting at the merry go round was Marvin, Ash, Steven and some of the girls we went climbing with the other week. We all decided to go in groups of three. I was put with Marvin and Ash, it was like a dream and a nightmare in one single day.
We pased the time inbetween rides by chatting about random little things that didn't even matter like the lights or how fun the rides were. We walked over to a food stall and ordered some chips to share. Under the white glow from the lights I could see Marvin's eyes perfectly. He had kind of multicoloured eyes because they started off as brown round the edge then went into an emrald green and finally a light blue colour circling his black pupils. "Hey" Ash said clicking his fingers and snapping me out of my daydream. "Lets sit down to eat" We nodded and placed our chips on a table with chairs "Just gonna go to the toilet." Ash said.
Marvin sat down facing me, I realised I'd never been alone with him before. I felt my cheeks redden but I knew it was too dark for him to see me blush. "So..." He started "...how are things?"
"Um...yeah there good I think." I said nervously.
"Oh, you don't sound so sure." He raised an eyebrow and his dark hair fell across his face. I felt tempted to move it back in place, I felt myself starting to raise my hand slowly. I looked up to his face and my blue eyes locked onto his multicoloured ones. His eyes reminded me of happiness, I know its a strange thought but they just do.
"Hope you've saved some for me!" Ash interrupted. I tore my gaze away from Marvin but noticed he'd started smirking a little bit.
"So what ride do you want to go on next?" I said trying to distract myself.
"The ferris wheel" Even though it was dark I could still see Marvin's smirk as he spoke.
I shook my head "I'm not going, you know I hate heights."
"Fine," Marvin said "what about you Ash?"
"I think I'll stay with Kriss so she doesn't get lonley at all." Ash almost sounded as if he was actually considering someone else for once.
"Okay." Marvin stood up and I followed "I'll go find someone else to go on the ride with me."
"Sure, we'll watch while you're in the ferris wheel." We made our way through the crowd of people until we arrived at the ride. A few feet away Lola, Gavin and some other girl were in a que for a different ride.
"Hey!" Marvin waved them over "Anyone fancy going on the ferris wheel with me? These two" he pionted at me and Ash "won't go on it."
"I'll go on with you." Gavin answered.
"Me too" Lola and the other girl said in unison. I watched as they queued and chatted. Me and Ash didn't really speak because we didn't really have anything to talk about which made me feel akward. I tried to think of something else like the cold wind whipping me in the face. It almost felt as if stones and bubbles were being thrown at me.
The fair ground attendant told them to go in twos and it looked like Gavin and Marvin went together and then Lola and that other girl went together. I don't think thats what they were hoping for.
The ferris wheel turned and went higher and higher which sort of made me feel sick but I ignored it.
Lola and the girl had reached the top and the ride stopped so they could get a look at the view. It started again and didn't stop until the next couple and the then the next and then it was Marvin and Gavin's turn to look at view.
Marvin looked down at me and Ash then smiled and waved. Then he sat back down, all of a sudden Gavin moved towards him and put his arms around him, Marvin's face expression was surprised but he didn't pull away. Gavin leaned in closer then kissed Marvin.
