I want to apologise, but I just don’t know how
I’d try to explain myself, but would you even care

I’d like to say I’ll never leave again, but it’s a promise I just can’t keep
The way you’re looking at me now cut pretty deep
Would you believe me if I told you, I saw you every night I went to sleep
I know leaving was a mistake, but it’s one I might just repeat
The silence between us is making my heart weep
I know you though that I’ve moved on from you
I'll admit that I thought that you must have moved on too
But moving on for you is the one thing I can promise that I’ll never do
Please tell me that you’d be able to make that promise too
Please let’s start over and make something new
I can’t say how long I will stay for this time
But whatever time we have is yours and mine
Don’t turn your back on me, our destiny is wrapped up in twine
What we share is sweeter than aged wine
Take my hand, and I promise that everything will be just fine
I know I’ve been away for far too long
But there's no way what we have could be gone
If you’re telling be that, then you’re wrong
I believe what we have is just too strong
