I wake up in the morning

And I’m scared to leave my home

Scared to face the hatred out on these streets

Scared of the way people react when the look at me

I pray for the day when we can all live as one

So many men out dealing or stealing in these streets

Women are selling their bodies just to get food to eat

Children are growing up to live this life in repeat

We kill each other for stupid and simple things

Treating life like it’s a worthless thing

We only have ourselves to blame for all the sufferings

We’re hating on each other because of what we look like

Thinking we’re better because of our education

We look down on each other because our jobs are better

But how dirty would the world be without those street cleaners

Why can’t we just stop all the hating and just accept and love each other

We blame everything wrong in our lives on god or society

Never willing to open our eyes to the world’s beauty

We refused to accept that the fault is our own

We refused to see that the world is crumbling because of us

Why can’t we stop all the bloodshed and live in unity

We claim that we are free from slavery

But are we really free?

We’re all still living in slavery

We are slaves of the government and of ourselves

We all need to wake up and open our eyes

To all that is happening around us

We need to stop the hating and live in unity and love
