A sweet young girl in a lonely world

Look down upon because of the colour of her skin

She tries to understand what is her sin

What is so wrong with the colour of her skin?

A handsome young boy in a big cold world

Treated like royalty because of the colour of his skin

He might be white on the outside but he charred within

There is so many things wrong with the colour of his skin.

A chance meeting on a dark cold night

Two lonely soul fell in love at first sight

The colour of each other skin they did not see

For the first time in life they both felt free.

The world doesn’t understand their love

Ugly stares are cast at them, deeming their union a sin

Two beautiful soul in this ugly world we live in

Being degraded and demeaned because of the colour of their skin.

For equality and the right to love, they fight

Hoping God will bring all evil people into the light

We can’t define a person by the colour of their skin

If we stay fighting one day we will win

We are who we are, not the colour of our skin.

They pray for the day when we all can stand as one

A day when all violence against skin colour can be won

A day when we can all be recognised for our strength and power

A day we will be free to love without colour.
