It's been two years since I've been back to that place
Even longer since I've seen your face
Do you remember, it's where we first embraced?
We used to love swimming in the lake
Whiles our hidden feelings slowly awake
Then in our first kiss we partake
You laughed and told me I couldn't get to the top of the tree
And when I slipped and fell you were there to catch me
You were always there when I needed you to be
We always said we'd take to the sea and go sailing one day
Someplace no one could find us, someplace far, far away.
But we never really got to have our way
I remembered the day you proposed
Your clever idea was to hide the ring in a rose
I laughed when I sniffed it and the ring touched my nose
I was looking forward to being with you for the rest of my life
I'm blessed that I even got a day of being your wife
I'm angry that our wedding day was the day you lost your life
I promised that I'll always be there for you
And you promised that you'll always be there when I needed you to
So forgive me if I'm unable to move on without you
