secrets I have held in my heart,

I Wanna Be Yours - Arctic Monkeys

----------------------------------------

Luke pulled himself out of bed the next morning feeling groggy as he slammed his hand down on his alarm to shut it up (although not to hard, he didn't want to flatten it). He ran his hands down his face and through his hair, grinning as he thought of his late night encounter with Tamsyn. It was a relief to finally have someone to talk to, and to be actually getting along exceptionally well with Tamsyn. (Ha! Take that Michael).

Quickly pulling on his impossibly tight skinny jeans and a plain long sleeved shirt Luke attempted to wake himself up with some coffee. Surprisingly on time he managed to fix himself some breakfast, he stole the last of Amy's cereal and he knew she was going to pissed at him but he was so tired and in such an apathetic mood that he shrugged and continued eating. He made himself up a flask of coffee to take with him to his lecture, he knew he was going to need it.

It was chilly that morning, despite the fact that it was close approaching spring. It was England after all. He pulled his leather jacket closer around him, grateful for the extra layer his costume gave him under his clothes.

Luke made it to his lecture with ten minutes to spare. He slipped into his seat next to Tamsyn, who of course was already there. Albeit looking as tired as Luke felt, clutching her own cup of coffee. She gave Luke a nod of approval at his punctuality and he gave a grin in return.

The pair made light conversation for a few minutes, talking in general about the syllabus, and an upcoming piece of coursework. Soon the chat turned to talk about how exhausted they were.

"You look tired, did you party a little too hard last night?" Luke asked cheekily, knowing full well what she was doing the night before. He was smiling at Tamsyn but the grin was soon wiped off his face.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Tamsyn asked defensively. Luke panicked. Shit, shit, shit he thought, trying to think of a way to salvage the situation.

"No, no, no, I don't mean it in a bad way, I'm sorry!!" Tamsyn frowned and accepted his apology, but she still was acting hostile towards Luke.

"How did you even know I went out last night anyway?" She asked curiously.

"I, erm, heard it from someone, I can't remember who though." Luke quickly made up on the spot. Tamsyn looked sceptical, but didn't question him further. Luckily the lecturer entered the lecture theatre soon after, abruptly stopping all conversation in the room.

Luke was mentally slapping himself in the face. He was well aware that he had been rude and offended Tamsyn. He was trying to be clever and funny but was now seriously regretting it. He was starting to realise how stupid he was to let down his guard around Tamsyn, and as per usual, in typical Luke style, he was freaking out about her finding out about him.

He couldn't decide whether to carefully ask her about Spider-Man or just leave it. He sat nervously, sweating as he glanced sideways at her, which was not helping one bit. He was completely over-reacting.

Eventually he decided against asking her as every time he opened his mouth he was unable to make any sounds come at, as well as the fact that he could almost feel the bad mood she was in rolling over him, which was obviously a result of a combination of his stupid comments and sleep deprivation. It was probably best that he didn't talk to her.

This put Luke himself in a bad mood. He had offended his only sort of friend in his lecture and now had to sit in silence during the whole lecture with her completely ignoring him. They both drank their coffee and tried their best to ignore each other.
