I fought it for a long time now while drowning in a river of denial
Dammed If I Do Ya (Dammed If I Don't) - All Time Low

--------------------

Three weeks after Luke had taken Tamsyn to tower bridge he found himself in a complicated situation. He had met with Tamsyn almost every night since then, and had walked home with her everyday as well as kept up with their usual conversations before lectures.

However at this moment in time Luke was in a bad way. He was limping back home, completely exhausted. He couldn't even gather the energy to use his webs to get himself back quicker.

He had gotten involved in a huge drugs bust. The police were absolutely livid at him, recently they had become more accepting of his help, but they felt that this time Luke was more of a hindrance than a help. He was inclined to agree with them, he hadn't handled the situation very well. Luke blamed this on his inexperience, he barged straight into the situation which he now realised was the wrong thing to do.

The drug dealers had immediately attacked him, they were a lot stronger and faster than Luke had anticipated, and even though he had the advantage they still managed to get a few punches and kicks in. There was at least six, all as stocky as each other.

The police were able to step in and arrest three of the dealers, Luke was still fighting with two when they suddenly doubled back and ran. He chased after them using a combination of his super speed and webs. They led Luke through a number of alleys and were somehow able to slip away from him. Luke climbed up to the roof of a nearby building in order to get a good vantage point. Once he realised he wasn't able to locate them he jumped back down a little further along. Luke crouched down, taking in his surroundings, trying to listen for any sign of movement.

He jumped up as he saw a shadow pass by him, he turned fast to be greeted with two yellow eyes of a tabby cat. Luke sighed and decided to see if they had headed back to help their friends. It was then that he heard an ear piercing screech of tyres and turned just in time to see a car hurtling towards him.

The car was moving too fast for even Luke to move out of the way, the impact of the car sent him rolling over the hood of the car, and he then landed on the ground. Pain shot through his body and he laid still, assessing his injuries.

Luke didn't think that anything was broken, but he was almost certain that he would have bruises all over his body the next day. He also had a few nasty cuts and scrapes. One on his cheek from the impact of him hitting the ground and a few on his upper arms and legs.

Around ten minutes later Luke was able to traipse his way back to the crime scene. The police had managed to arrest all six criminals and recover all the drugs. They were not too pleased to see Luke to say the least.

"We could have you arrested y'know." The sergeant said, looking disapprovingly at Luke.

"I'm sorry." Luke shrugged, and then winced from the pain.

"Look, go home and get cleaned up. Just remember this incident next time before you go in and start a fight." A kind women officer suggested. Luke recognised her from the first encounter he had with the police. The insignia on her uniform told him she was the constable.

Luke struggled to pull himself up to the first floor of his building. He clambered over the railings, minus his usual grace and landed heavily. He groaned and pulled himself up to a sitting position.

Tamsyn's window opened slowly and she pulled herself outside, moving to kneel above Luke.

"Woah! Are you okay?!" She asked as she looked over his body. There were patches of blood over his costume where he had acquired cuts. He was filthy too.
