It had been a while since Namjoon left. Or more like 5 weeks. It took quite a minute for his parents to figure out he was even missing. Yuuri was actually the one to tell them he hadn't been at school or coming home at night.
His parents filed him as a missing person, calling the police station everyday to see if they found anything.
The police had thought they found him, when they found a male corpse in a nearby river, but after doing some more investigation they came to the conclusion it was not him.
Yuuri had lost weight from lack of eating. Around 18 pounds within 3 weeks of him missing. Yuuri would stay up at night. Calling him on repeat hoping that at some point he would answer. "I think he blocked me" Yuuri would say when Aisha asked if anything was new on his case.
Meanwhile, Namjoon and Lisa had moved into a one bedroom apartment in New York City. It was expensive but they had enough money to live for a while. "Just need to cut back on food expenses." Lisa said like taking a sip of water. They basically lived in a bedroom. When they walked through the door, they walked into a room with a bed, a mini fridge, a safe only they knew the combination to, and a bathroom with a shower and a toilet.
As soon as Namjoon got into the city he would start walking down the street everyday trying to find a hiring sign. He applied for quite a few places like a Pizza Hut, Firehouse, office assistant, ect.
He ended up working two jobs as an office assistant and worked in a library. Lisa had also managed to snag a few jobs. She recently started working as massage therapist and is now in a training program to get a cosmetology license.
Namjoon woke up Monday morning, his alarm blaring making Lisa stir on her sleep. Namjoon quickly turned the alarm off to not wake her but she woke up anyway. She hummed and rolled over to face him. "Bye." She waved still half asleep. She didn't have to get up for work until 10:30 and be there by 11:00. Namjoon got out of bed and put on some jeans and a button up polo shirt.
He brushed his teeth with his red toothbrush and spit the white toothpaste into the sink. He splashed his face with water and ran out of his apartment after putting on his tennis shoes.
He walk at a quick pace down the street, skidding by groups of people on the sidewalk in Times Square.
He jaywalked across the road and made his way to the office building. He got into the elevator and pressed level 8. The metal box dinged before closing.
He leaned against the railing, waiting for it to stop. When it did he got off and walked down the hallway and into an office where he saw his boss sitting at a wooden desk typing on the computer. "Kim. Your late." He said annoyed. "I'm sorry sir."
The worker sighed and rolled in his chair to face him. He took out his wallet and took out some money. "Go to the Starbucks down the street and get me a Chai latte. Quickly." He tossed the money at Namjoon and he attempted to catch it, most of it landing on the ground and he had to bend down onto the floor to get.
He stood up and speed-walked to the Starbucks like he had instructed.
He pushed open the door to the crowed Starbucks. There was a line Namjoon had to wait in for about 5 minutes before he could order. When the person in front of him moved out of the way Namjoon threw his order at the girl standing behind the cash register. "A grande Chai latte hold the cinnamon. Name is Namjoon." Namjoon said quickly. The girl who's name tag read Chelsey, put his order into the computer. "That's it" Namjoon said before she could ask. "$4.25" she said and Namjoon handed her the money, him getting 75 cents back which he just put in his pocket.
He went over and sat down at an empty table. He looked around and waited for his name to be called.
"Sherry!" A guy called out a name while setting the cup of black coffee on the pick up table. A woman with dark brown hair and pale skin picked up the cup with shaky hands. "Thank you." She said. Namjoon starred at her face for a long time. She looked so familiar. Sherry walked out of the place quickly.
