The Crystalling

Sugar Bliss had gotten news that Princess Cadence and Shining Armor recently had a baby and everypony was invited to attended the Crystalling.

The Crystalling was an event where, whenever a baby was born in the Crystal Empire, the baby would be presented to everyone and the joy from the ponies would be use to power the Crystal Heart.

Sugar Bliss met up with the girls at the Ponyville train station so they could all head to the Crystal Empire. The Alicorn could have easily opened a portal there but Twilight said that she had somepony she wanted her to meet.

Thus, Suger Bliss was stood in front of a light purple unicorn with purple and blue hair.

"Um, hello!" The unicorn smiled nervously, not knowing if she should bow or not. "I'm Starlight Glimmer."

"I'm Sugar Bliss." The white Alicorn looked equally as awkward. "Are you new to Ponyville?"

"Oh, yah. Twilight's letting me stay with her in her castle as her pupil."

"Starlight once stole the cutie marks of an entire town and forced everypony to be the opposite of their true selves!" Pinkie explained as they board the train.

Starlight looked horrified but Sugar Bliss just giggled. "I've done that before!" The Alicorn said as they all found seats. "Well, not the whole 'stealing cutie marks' thing. But I did help change a pony's personality."

Rainbow huffed. "Yah, thanks for that."

Starlight sat next to the Alicorn. "Really?"

Sugar Bliss nodded. "I helped Discord take over Ponyville."

"Discord? As in, the spirit of chaos, Discord?"

"The very one! I also helped him steal and hide the Elements of Harmony so they couldn't be used against us."

Starlight smiled a bit. She felt a bit better knowing she wasn't the only pony with an evil history.

They were almost at the Crystal Empire when Rainbow Dash looked at the seat behind her where Applejack was sitting. "Um, Applejack, what is that?" She asked, looking at the big thing sitting next to the earth pony, covered by a blanket.

"Oh, just a little something for the young 'un." Applejack removed the blanket to reveal a rocking cradle. "Made from genuine Sweet Apple Acres apple trees. We make 'em for all the Apples and anypony related to Twilight is practically family.

"Yah, it's okay," Rainbow Dash drawled. "But it's no Coudsdale Mobile!" She pulled out a mobile that had clouds, rainbows and thunder bolts.

Applejack just smirked. "Well, a mobile is real nice... as long as you have something to lay in so you can look at it."

"And a fetching blanket to keep you warm." Rarity added as she put a blanket that she just finished making into the cradle.

"I'm sure Shining Armor and Princess Cadence will love all our gifts," Twilight smiled at them. "But I think they're more happy we'll be attending the baby's Crystalling."

Pinkie jumped up and down in excitement. "I can't wait to see all that light and love make the Crystal Heart even more sparkly and shiny!"

"Actually Pinkie, the Crystal Heart is an ancient and powerful relic. Without its magic, the Crystal Empire would be lost to the Frozen North."

"Again, what moron thought it was a good idea to build a city all the way out here." Sugar Bliss grumbled, making Starlight chuckle.

"This Crystalling sounds pretty important." Starlight said as she turned to Twilight. "I'd understand if you wanted to, you know, wait to do a different friendship lesson when we get back."
