We are all settled in the conference area on the helicarrier watching Loki on screen. Bruce is positioned behind my chair, Nat in the far right chair, Cap sits directly to my left and Thor is standing in front of the table. Fury walks out of the containment room and the screens turn off
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Banner is the first to speak his tone purly sarcastic. He has been slightly pacing behind me for the last 5 minutes making me increasingly on edge.
"Loki's gonna drag this out." Steve says, Looking over at my wrist, then at me, and lastly back at Thor "So, Thor, what's his play?"
"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard, nor any world known. He means to lead them against your people, they will win him the earth, in return, I suspect, for the Tesseract." Thor says turning to face the table, his arms crossed as he faces the rest of the team
"An army from outer space." Steve says, confirming what was just said, he looks down to his own hand and lets off a small chuckle, i recognise it as the same kind of chuckle I let off when I feel uncomfortable.
"So he's building another portal, that's what he needs Erik Selvig for?" Banner asks continuing to pace
"Selvig?" Thor asks, looking at me with questioning eyes, I have been so concerned about getting Clint back that I almost forgot about Selvig.
"He's an astrophysicist" Bruce retorts before I can say anything
"He's a friend" Thor says now looking at me slightly betrayed, I nod slightly acknowledging his betrayal, but in reality we both know we haven't had much time to talk about anything
"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of our own" Nat chimes in. Knowing her I can see the hurt in her eyes, but to everyone else she looks cold.
"I want to know why Loki let us take him, he's not leading an army from here." Steve says matter of factly. I look to him shrugging my shoulder in agreeance
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him" Bruce says with a smirk, I try to suppress a small laugh.
"Have care how you speak, Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother" Thor raises his voice at Bruce
"He killed 80 people in two days" Nat replies expressionless
"He's adopted" Thor remarks looking slightly ashamed
"I think it's about the mechanics, iridium, what do they need the iridium for?" Bruce says tapping the table
"It's a stabilizing agent" Tony projects as he walks in the room, whispering something else to Coulson. "It means that the portal won't collapse on itself like it did at SHIELD."
Tony starts to walk to the main control center of the helicarrier, looking at all of the different screens, Bruce still pacing behind me, at this point it's driving me absolutely insane. I turn to look at him, he doesn't notice the subtle turn so i put my hand out and stop him
"Im sorry, I'm just," Bruce starts to say
"Nervous I know, its ok" i say back with a small smile, Bruce instead of pacing places his arms on the top of my chair turning me back around to face the rest of the room
"No hard feeling, Point Break, you've got a mean back swing" Tony says, patting Thor on the arm, seeming to try to be as disrespectful as possible. I block out his voice, I've gotten good at that over the years, my father likes to listen to himself talk.
I start producing a cool air around my left wrist with my right hand. I know I need ice because of the sprain so it doesn't get worse. The cool slight breeze must have hit Cap because he looked over at me
