Steve pulls back from the kiss quickly. Looking at her and grabbing the gear, and shaking his head as he makes his way back to the car, Sharon watching him the whole time, then looking over to the car giving me a smirk.
I feel myself getting angry, a small shadow starting to form in my palm now. I don't push it back this time, instead I play with it. Form it, not letting the anger consume me. Steve shoots me an apologetic look, I ignore it, I'm not mad at him, I'm mad at her.
I continue to play with the shadow as we drive down a secluded street, surrounded by trees all around
"Sam, please roll your window down for a moment" I ask as Sam obliges
I release the pent up aggression ball out the window and as soon as it hits the outside air it explodes in a large flash of lightning shocking everyone including me.
"Feel better?" Bucky asks watching me with wonder
"Actually yeah" I say with a small voice as we continue to drive, still not really looking at anyone in particular. Playing with my ring.
I end up falling asleep, for what must have been a few hours, because we have stopped at an abandoned hotel, not the nicest place, but when you're on the run you take what you can get.
"We post up here for the night, Clint is getting us transportation, I'll take the first shift, everyone get some sleep." Steve says taking charge again, as Sam and Bucky walk off into the better looking rooms Steve grabs my arm "Hey little witch"
"Hey iced latte" I say looking up at him trying to fight the hurt I still feel.
"Sharon was out of line, I'm sorry, it meant nothing, you know that, right?" He says placing his hand on my cheek making me look up at him
"I know, doesn't mean it didn't hurt seeing someone kiss you" I say sadly
"I'm sorry, I should have listened to you, I didn't want to believe that she actually was flirting with me." He says with a half smile "she's even worse at it than you are"
"I don't know if that makes me feel any better," I say with a small laugh.
"I think it does" he says with an even bigger smirk, leaning down and kissing me hard, fast, even hungry.
"God get a room" Sam yells at us we break away and start to laugh
"We did it, you have Bucky back." I say hugging Steve tightly
"Once this is over, we can settle down, get married, get that dog" he says with a small laugh
"You would really set this life behind?" I say looking up at him
"It seems like it's time, after all, the accords make it impossible to continue doing what we do freely, I'm not even sure what will happen after this last mission, but I know I want you by my side." Steve says, placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
"Sounds great, I'm game" I say, hugging him tighter.
The next morning piled into the car again we make our way to the airport, Clint was able to secure us a helicopter as a way to get us to Siberia. We pull up next to a white van as Clint comes out of it.
"Cap, Fenix," Clint says nodding at us, I envelop him in a hug
"It's nice to see you Hawk," I say with a smile letting him go and stepping aside as Wanda gets out of the van also. I head over as hug her also
"You know we couldn't have called if we had any other choice." Steve says, shaking Clint's hand.
"I'm sorry for my father keeping you at the compound, I mentioned for it to be a safe space" I say ignoring the conversation behind me behind us.
