Sam and Steve are away chasing another lead on Bucky, it's been months since any signs of a lead. But it's nice that it leaves me time to get more work done on the new facility.

"Hey dad, I was looking at the blueprints again, I see my area, now creatively called the love nest, gross, but, I don't see a room for you, I originally planned your own specific area, did you change my blueprints?" I question him, knowing that I didn't label my office the cave nor did I label my quarters the love nest. Also knowing that the location of my labled office is different as well as my room.

"It's not going to be my main residence, I'm buying a new penthouse here in the city after the new facility is finished, and the sale of the building is final" My father says like it's no big deal

"So, what after we take down HYDRA you're retiring for good?" I laugh at the concept, he's already promised this once before

"Yeah well I think it's time I retire, well at least from avenging, go back and actually run my company, after all, you needed someone to fund your little avengers project" He snarks at me

"Not my fault we have a whole weird family of people to protect" I say with a smile

"You truly are my kid, you know that" He says with a smile "Just at your age I was out chasing women, not collecting a band of merry men and taking down government organizations"

"Well we all can't follow in our fathers footsteps can we" I laugh and sit down across from him

"Yeah, your following more in my fathers footsteps, I see a lot of him in you too Kay, your determined, strong, god are you smart, your stubborn, occasionally an asshole" He starts to ramble on

"Thanks dad, every girl grows up one day hoping to hear how much of a pain in the ass she is" I say placing my feet on the table in front of me

"Ah yes, but your my asshole" he says getting up and ruffling my hair "And I wouldn't trade you for anything"

"Yeah you're ok yourself I guess I'll keep you around too" I say trying to fix my hair

"Oh nice job landing the front page of every trash tabloid out there" He says tossing a few magazines in front of me. Steve and I on our date last night, perfect. I flip through the pages, the champagne toast, the kisses, the tickling. Eye witnesses saying how we acted like we either hate each other or love each other, speculations, everything normal in one of these magazines.

"Hey these are better than some of your greatest hits" I say smiling, I remember one magazine years ago, when one of his one night stands locked him out on a balcony in just his boxers "At least i'm fully clothed"

"Kay, I may tease you, but I'm glad the old man makes you happy" He says sitting across from me again. "I don't wish to see it in person, but I'm glad you're doing well, that you have found someone that gets you,"

"Like how pepper gets you?" I say finishing his sentence with a smile

"How did you know what I was going to say? Can you read minds now?" He smiles "What number am I thinking of"

"31" I say with a smile, knowing im right

"YES!" He says more excited than he should be "You are Psychic!"

"No dad it was an easy guess, your favorite number is 31. The day I was born" I say with another cheeky smile

"Yes, you are right" He says collecting himself after being overly excited for no good reason

"Anyways, I should get back to work on these plans" I say collecting the plans from the table

"Sounds great kiddo. I know I don't say it alot, but I love you kid, i'm so glad you exist" He says hugging me

"Yeah Im glad I exist too" I say with a smile, "I love you too dad"
