Watchdogs

"Slow down," I say into the phone as Coulson raddled on excitedly

"Let me patch Daisy into the call,'' Coulson says with a small frown. As he does I look around my office, luckily the only person who would ever bother me in here is Steve and I told him that I have some paperwork to do after training sessions today so he will leave me be for now "Daisy, you know Kaylee"

"I do, nice to see you again" Daisy says her face now on screen next to Coulson

"Ah, yes, you cut your hair and changed your name I see," I say with a chuckle referring to about a year ago when I met the brunet now going by the name Daisy, back then her name was Sky

"Yes, yes more pressing matters than gossip I'm afraid" Coulson says trying to focus us both back up

"Sorry Phil continue" I say sitting down on the edge of my desk

"Ok how come she gets to call you Phil?" Daisy asks causing me to laugh and Coulson to scrunch up his face

"Because I'm your boss, she's her own boss who from time to time advises me" Coulson says as sternly as he can causing me to laugh slightly

"I mean, I'm not the boss, Caps the boss, I just pay for things and help everyone look cool" I say with a smirk

"Nitramene," Coulson says, trying to push the conversation forward.

"Ah, that's one I actually read about recently" I say, walking around my desk, opening a file on my computer to look at my grandfather's old file. I spent a good amount of time having everything re-scanned and put into files so I could access old shield files and my grandfather's old files that I found at the base when cleaning it out. "Particularly nasty compound, why do you need to know about it?"

"An ATCU building was folded in on itself when a group of anti-enhanced radicles shot some kind of weapon including traces of Nitramene at it" Coulson says as I pull up some old grainy test footage of one of my grandfathers Nitramene experiments, it does exactly what Coulson just says folded the target in upon itself

"That's terrifying" I say watching the footage now of the group calling themselves the Watchdogs "They want a list of enhanced? Because they are being hidden? By the ATCU? Sounds crazy, there's not more of us every day"

"Well, thing is, yeah there are" Coulson says causing me to look up from my computer screen

"What do you mean?" I say obviously confused

"Well, Daisy here is one, and we have another that joined SHIELD, plus we know of a whole bunch more" Coulson says like it's not a big deal

"Wow, I mean I figured more of us existed, but I guess I didn't realize how many more of us could be out there" I say leaning back in my chair. Honestly shocked at this information.

"Back to the issue at hand" Coulson says maybe a bit annoyed

"Right, sorry Nitramene," I say looking back at the file "they have to be making improvements to my grandfather's formula, there's no way it can be used in gel based explosives, it's not stable enough. But good news it can be neutralized by sodium hydrogen acetate"

"That's what Fitz said!" Daisy exclaimes "Why does this mean so much to everyone? Like why is everyone so excited about this?"

"It's SHIELD history, an experimental bomb formula was stolen from my grandfather's vault back when he was on the run, long story. The stuff is dangerous, actually I remember my grandfather telling me how Jarvis the butler helped Agent Carter get rid of the rest of the Nitramene that was created from the formula." I say getting lost in an early memory of my grandfather bringing me to work with him.
