11:50 pm:

During this time, Nathalie had already finished unpacking her belongings inside the suitcase. Nathalie still has an hour and five minutes to do whatever she wants. She doesn't have work, but she has a virtual meeting to discuss how work will look for her, later at one pm.

Gabby is snoring on the bed, and Nathalie doesn't know what to do.

When she sat at the edge of the bed and look ahead of her, she sees the bookshelf in her room. She decides to approach it hoping a book would catch her attention and she end up reading it for the time being.

She squats down to level herself from the very bottom shelf. She runs her fingers in the books. After scanning the lowest shelf, and find nothing, she scans the next, and the next, until she can no longer reach the next shelf above, without having to use a stepping stool.

Nathalie walked away from the bookshelf and sat on the sofa in front of the fire place. She leans back and place her palms face down to the arm chair, then she closes her eyes for a brief second.

Despite the fact that there were several books on the shelf, Nathalie did not find one that stimulated her interest. Another reason was that she had already read the majority of the books kept on the shelf.

Once she opened her eyes again, they landed on the chessboard board set in the coffee table in front of her.

Nathalie remembers how she and Gabriel would spend some time sitting across from each other, in front of the fireplace playing chess.

Nathalie smiled lightly as the memories came rushing back to her.

When he comes to her after losing against ladybug and chat noir, she would always suggest to play chess and it immediately turned the competitive side of him on. Nathalie remembers how she would purposely make herself lose the game for she didn't want Gabriel to be upset about losing once again.

It was to distract him, even for just a little while. Gabriel forgot about the miraculouses, reviving his now ex-wife, Emilie, work and the stress that adds  into it.

It was just Gabriel and Nathalie.

Nathalie took a deep breath. Soon after, she heard a knock on the door.

Before she could even answer, Gabriel invites himself inside the room.

He smiles as soon as he sees Nathalie sitting on the sofa, looking his way.

When Nathalie broke the eye contact, he realized she was looking at the chessboard in front of her.

He approaches her while saying, "would you like to play the game?" Nathalie looks at him, "I bet I will win each time...like I always do" Gabriel says teasing her.

Nathalie scoffs, "are you sure?" she raised a brow.

"Yes, yes I am." Gabriel says confidently, "Lets play a round or two...." Gabriel was then quick to sit in the sofa in front of her.

"We'll see" Nathalie says almost whispering

-

A minute and a half into the game, Gabriel and Nathalie already captured one of each others pawns.

-

Five minutes into the game and Nathalie already had the majority of Gabriel's chess pieces.

Gabriel left his horse (knight) piece blocking Nathalie's rook, she took this chance to move the rook sideways to the left, capturing Gabriel's horse.

"How?! I did not even place that there" Gabriel says while Nathalie placed the piece that she captured from Gabriel to the side.

"How did it get there if you hadn't placed it there?" Nathalie says, while leaning back to the sofa
