-Agreste Mansion-

The moment Gabriel stepped outside of his and Nathalie's bedroom, he sauntered towards his daughter's room on the opposite side of the Agreste mansion. As he stood in front of the lofty, modern door, he put his hand on the doorknob, pushing the door quietly and just enough until he could see his daughter inside, still asleep in her canopy bed with her cousin Blaire curled up next to her.

He let out a short, quiet laugh, remembering the persuading Gabby and Blaire did to get their sleepover approved by their parents. Although Blaire sleeping over the night before the girls' first day of school was already secretly approved by both of their parents, after Gabby had asked the first time, they had to pretend they needed further convincing for the sake of viewing the dance choreography Gabriella and Blaire devised to convince them.

After checking on his daughter and Blaire, Gabriel made his way down the stairs and into the kitchen, carrying with him the mission to make every minute of today better than yesterday.

Yesterday felt heavy and exasperating, and there were many tears shed after Gabriel and Nathalie learned what truly—or, a better word—who caused Nathalie's miscarriage. Just as Gabriel was starting to convince himself that it would be best if he forgave Julienne and Amelie for working together, with the goal to ruin their family, a new piece of information surfaced. Information that makes even Nathalie, who has forgiven Julienne in the past, become infuriated with her once again.

Doctor Aubert instructed Nathalie to bring her the prenatal vitamin pills she took the night before she found out she was pregnant, suspecting it to be the reason Nathalie nearly miscarried her baby. Her suspicions have been proven right after she examined the code imprinted on the pills, and upon looking it up, she found out that the "prenatal vitamin pills," the same ones Nathalie said she was taking daily last year while she was pregnant with their expected second child, were replaced with benzodiazepines, which, if taken during the early stages of pregnancy, harm the growing baby in the womb.

-Flashback-

With shaky breath, Nathalie admits, "I-I had no idea... I took those pills thinking it would benefit my baby- It's all my fault. If I had known-" she wasn't able to finish talking when a sob took over, cutting her off. She truly believes that she killed the baby in her womb last year, and she almost did the same to the one she's carrying now.

Gabriel was quick to draw his wife to him, but he had no voice to comfort her. Hearing her sob as she began to blame herself, he could feel fury encircle him.

This wasn't Nathalie's fault. It's not hers at all. It's Amelie and her accomplice Julianne.

His jaw, as well as his fist, were clenched. There was extreme rage pilling within him. One he cannot seem to have control over. After a moment of silence from Gabriel as he held his wife, he gently removed his arms around her, and he began to walk silently toward the door in the office, though the voices in his head were hollering at him to do something...it didn't matter if it was wrong.

"G-Gabriel?" Nathalie managed to say between her sobs; however, as if he hadn't heard her, he left the room with the door slamming behind him, startling Nathalie and the doctor that stood beside her.

Nathalie continued to sob, and as Dr. Aubert attempted to comfort her, resting her hand on her shoulder, there was this unexplainable, unsettling feeling that she began to feel. Her heartbeat began hammering against her chest.

Looking at the doctor, she excused herself, before following her husband out of the office. The moment she had spotted him again, he was situated inside the elevator, with his fist tightly clenched, his knuckles must be white by now, and the nails digging on his palm would be sure to draw blood.
