As soon as Nathalie woke up, her attention was instantaneously turned to the man she still loved so much. As she rested her head on Gabriel's chest, and looked up at him with a smile visible on her face, she thought about what had occurred last night.

The poor man got himself wasted all because of her... It hurt her, as much as it hurt him, that he thought she was disgusted by him because she wouldn't let him touch her or get near her.

Nathalie wasn't at all disgusted by him.

She had her reasons for being so cold and distance towards him. She was upset with him, and it didn't help that they weren't able to talk about their issues before Gabriel was imprisoned, which caused her frustration with Gabriel to pile up.

But right now, as she laid so close beside him after sleeping beside each other like strangers, Nathalie knew she did not want to ever lose Gabriel again. She knew just how lucky she was to have Gabriel, a man who genuinely loves and cares for her to the point that all he wanted for her was to be happy. He was willing to let himself hurt in order to give Nathalie happiness.

But the truth is, Gabriel was the only person who had ever been able to bring Nathalie such happiness in her life. Without him, she wasn't even sure whether she'd ever be truly happy.

Gabriel was all Nathalie ever wanted. And from this moment, she vowed to do all she could to mend what was once broken.

As she held on to Gabriel tighter, Nathalie's tears came rolling down her cheeks. She had forgotten about the anger and was replaced by her love for him, which never even left in the first place.

When he began to fidget in the bed and groan, Nathalie took her hand from his waist and placed it gently on his cheek. She stroked his cheek and whispered to him softly, "You're alright, darling. I'm here, always..." and then raised her head to kiss his forehead.

Right after, she wiped her tears and rested her head on his chest again, placing his hand back on her waist. She hugged him and closed her eyes as she buried her face in the crook of his neck.

It didn't take long until Nathalie eventually fell back asleep.

-8:30 am-

After Nathalie woke up again, she pondered how long she had been asleep. When she first woke up, she didn't check the time, but that quickly became the least of her concerns. Nathalie knew Gabriel had drank heavily the night. Before and that he would experience a hangover as soon as he woke up. Before getting out of bed, she smiled at him, took his hand off her waist, and kissed his forehead once more.

Nathalie hurried to the bathroom to begin her morning routine as fast as she could, knowing Gabriel might wake up at any moment before she could even make him a nice breakfast.

When Nathalie was ready, she made sure to keep the room dark, meaning that all of the lights were turned off and the drapes were pulled to keep the sunshine out of their bedroom. Nathalie was aware that when Gabriel woke up, he would be sensitive to any light and sounds.

She left their bedroom and went straight to the dining room where she found Lucy and Nathaniel already cleaning up the dining table.

"oh! Good morning, Nathalie. Did you wanna have breakfast? I'll bring the food out," Lucy began as soon as she saw Nathalie.

Nathalie smiled and said to her sister-in-law, "Good morning to you as well. I'm going to have breakfast later, but thank you, Lucy... Gabriel drank quite heavily last night... I'm thinking of making him onion soup and honey-lemon-ginger tea to help with his hangover when he wakes up."
