When He Returned - Part 14I was exhausted since it was a busy day, this morning all work and now the lunch was an absolute drag, well ... For me at least. After I would have to go back to the office for a while and finish signing off some papers, then hopefully be done for the day.
There's a certain feeling one gets ... The feeling of slight uneasiness, when you know someone is watching you .. But you're afraid to look up.
Yes, he was still watching me. And I must say feeling his eyes trying to pierce into my soul was a feeling I could most definitely feel. But I didn't want to look up ... That's what he wanted, for me to make eye contact with him. But it wasn't as easy as I wished it to be. His presence was somewhat magnetic and attractive. Even if you wished to hate his guts you simply couldn't. He had the charming and alluring personality to him that attracted you and drew you to him.
I rolled my eyes giving in finally as I looked up at him meeting his gaze. I gave a sarcastic scowl as I tipped my wine glass slightly.
"May I have a word with you?" He asked softly, almost a whisper, but loud enough for me to hear.
"No, you may not." Sipping the wine I turned to James smiling as I started off a conversation with him.Lunch continued like this with me trying my best to ignore him and shut him out while he tried to make eye contact and talk to me. Little did I know that time would pass my so quickly. I reached for my purse slipping my phone out as I peeked at the screen. It was 4pm already.
"Goodness .." I gasped pushing the phone back in as I looked at James. "I have to get going it's later than I thought. I still haven't signed the lease papers and they have to be faxed tonight itself." Getting up from my seat I took my purse dabbing my mouth with the napkin and excused myself from the table.✨
