When He Returned - Part 21 "You need to talk things over with him Eva, you're not getting anywhere by avoiding him." He shrugged dusting the crumbs off the table.
"Yes but I'm not-"
Before I could finish the sentence Michael walked in.
He seemed slightly nervous at first as he looked around taking in the sight. His eyes wandered around my office, up at the ceilings, across the shelves, out the window and then finally at me.
I was almost frozen in my seat. I wasn't sure whether to get up or not .. I wasn't sure what to do at all.
"Well, I should get going .. I'll see you tomorrow morning Eva." James smiled as he winked heading toward the door. "It's nice to see you again Michael." He nodded before walking out leaving Michael and I alone in the room.
My jaw locked as I looked up at him watching him gaze down at me. James was right .. I couldn't just avoid him. "Its .. Nice to see you here Michael." I smiled slightly getting up from my seat.
"It's nice to see you too Eva .."
His voice oh lord his voice .. It was so beautiful it made you just melt. I walked over to the door trying to contain myself as much as possible as I shut it for privacy and headed back to the desk sitting down keeping my eyes down.
"So what brings you here?" I asked as I nodded for him to take a seat down opposite me.
His mouth opened slightly to talk but he looked down and pulled the chair out sitting down and then looked back at me. "Well, I uhm ... I guess I just wanted to talk, catch up maybe."
My eyebrows raised slightly in surprise of his reply. Catch up? "Catch up with what?"
"Well.." He shifted in his seat trying to get more comfortable, his eyes wandering around the room and finally at me, stalling his response. "Us .. Well .. I mean catch up with you, you know just get to know how things are going." He smiled clearly trying to hide his nervousness.✨
