When He Returned - Part 15 "I'll come with you." James looked up at me taking a sip of the last quarter champagne in his glass.
"Oh no it's alright, I'll be in the office for a while. You can drop by later if you'd like, maybe get some dinner along?" I smirked leaning down kissing his cheek as I slipped away from the seat and headed off out of the restaurant.
"A call for you ma'am." One of the security personnels held out a phone in my direction.
"Hello?" I spoke, taking the phone in my hand as I continued walking to the exit. "Yes keep it ready for me. And ... Make sure I see him, privately." The office was silent, as always of course. Dark and quiet with the only light that poured in through the window from the city below. I switched the lamps on dimming them to a cozy haze as I set my purse upon the mahogany desk and sat down in the chair swivelling around to face the full wall window.
A knock sounded at the door. "Miss Moore?"
"Yes, come in." I leaned back onto the chair still facing the city below. "Do you have everything set?"
"Indeed ma'am. We have guards positioned on every level of the building."
"And you've got the papers?"
There was a slight shuffle of papers as they were set on the table. "Right here ma'am."
"Make sure everything goes as planned. I want every motion reported back to me. And listen," I turned slightly speaking over my shoulder. "As much as I would love it, make sure not to kill the damn guy... It would give us away."✨
