I flipped through the inked pages, everything in my journal was just not perfect enough. I write about my day but what is there to write? The only times I write is when something happens, nothing really happens.

I shut the journal feeling my anger rise, I just want to write something that's actually worth a read. This shit isn't worth a read. I looked at my phone seeing the time, 3:00. Time for a shitty ass hour, full of questions like how do you feel? Stupid.

I got up putting my book in my backpack and walking towards the line to order yet again another cup of black coffee. The line was long, I would "sadly" be late to therapy.

Waited for about 10 minutes, the line wasn't moving, me being an impatient person tried to find out what was taking so fucking long to make a cup of coffee. For where I was standing I saw only 1 staff member. Great.

"God what's taking so long?" I heard a familiar soft voice say, I looked down seeing Kendall going on her tippy toes trying to see over the guy in front of her. I haven't seen her since October, it was November seventeenth.

Her hair was up in 2 high ponytails again and she was dressed in a brown sweat set. She kept moving to the side to see but still failed. At this point it was annoying me.

"They have one person making coffee" I said still looking forward at the employee who struggled.

I noticed she turned around, looking up at me with those hazel green eyes. "Nick" I don't like my nicknames she has for me.

"Kendall" I gave her a small nod, then continued to look forward. I could tell she kept looking at me. It didn't bother me but why was she looking at me?

"What are you getting?" She says moving forward in the line.

"Coffee"

I heard her giggle softly, "no silly, what coffee are you getting? I know you are getting coffee" I look down at her, what if I just put tape over her mouth? But then I wouldn't hear her voice.

"Black coffee" she nodded waiting for me to say something else. "How about you Kendall?"

"I'm getting a hot vanilla coffee with heavy cream" is that what she usually gets? I nodded and moved forward in the line.

I felt my phone start to vibrate in my pocket, I looked at the caller ID, it was Carmen. "Hello?"

"Nicolas, you're late"

"Yeah I know, I'm waiting in the coffee line to get coffee" I heard her sigh.

"Well I have other patients, if you're not here in 30 minutes then you can't come today"

"Okay, stop worrying. I'm up next bye" I hung up rolling my eyes at the stupid phone call. I know she's trying to help, it ain't working. I also really wasn't up next.

I noticed that Kendall stopped looking at me, in fact she wasn't even trying to talk to me right now.

"Next!" The employee yelled loudly, she walked up to the front counter ordering her coffee. "That will be 6.50" Kendall reached into her pocket, she kept stuffing her hands in her pockets then taking them out.

"Im not going to get anything, um I forgot my wallet" she left the line going to her spot again. I looked back at where Kendall was sitting, she had one of her fingers in her mouth. I think she felt me looking because she looked back at me. She quickly looked down stuffing her hand in her pockets. She must be embarrassed.

"Next!" The employee said loudly, I stepped forward taking out my card "one large black coffee to go and one heated up vanilla coffee with heavy cream, that one is for here in a large cup." She nodded writing on the cup and printing out a paper.

"12.36, can I have a name?"

"Nicolas" i put my card back in my wallet then waited at the pick up counter for the coffee.
I looked back at her, she was concentrated on the book she was reading.

She is such a klutz, not in a bad way.

I grabbed a pen and paper from my backpack beginning to write a note. 'A hot vanilla coffee with heavy cream. My treat. ~ Nicolas'

"Nicolas!" I grabbed my coffee and the mug. I walked over to Kendall, setting down the mug with the paper. I walked out of the coffee shop to my car. I wonder if she'll read the note.

⁂⁂⁂

I looked down at my coffee thinking about what Kendall. Did she drink it? What if I wasted my money in stupid fucking coffee for my neighbor?

"Nicolas, I finally decided to show?" Carmen looked a bit annoyed but grateful I came. "So tell me what good happened today?"

"Nothing" She sighed to herself already feeling sick of me. I'm also sick of me.

"Here better question tell me what happened this afternoon?" She leaned back waiting for my response. I looked down thinking about the first thing I did this morning.

"I brushed my teeth, then ate eggs and bacon With toast. I went to the gym, then went back home to shower and change into some warm clothes. I knew it was going to probably rain later. Then I went to the coffee shop, I was reading my book but it's not going anywhere, so I put it in my backpack and went to order coffee. The line was long, there was only one person working, Kendall was there, we talked for a bit then she ordered coffee but couldn't cause she forgot her wallet. She looked pretty sad about that so I bought her the coffee she wanted. Then I gave it to her and came here"

"You got her coffee? Why?" Carmen grinned softly.

"I don't know, she was looking forward for the coffee but couldn't buy it. So I bought it for her." Carmen nodded writing something down.

I hate when she writes things down. It makes me wonder what's wrong. She looked at the clock on the wall seeing that our time was up.

"Will I see you tomorrow?"

"Don't count on it" I got up walking towards the door.

"See You tomorrow"

I don't think she gets what don't count on it means.
