I sat on the edge of my soft queen sized bed, feeling my feet dangle on the edge. My elbows propped down on my thighs making my hands hold my head. I stared at my phone waiting until Darren texted me. Today I was working at home, Chris wants me to paint some stuff for next weeks gallery event, so he is giving me a week to paint. That is the plan. I already had some painting stored in the garage so honestly I didn't have to paint much.
I bit my lip softly wondering why Darren wasn't calling or texting me back. We spent a night together and all of yesterday being a bit intimate with one another....it was definitely different, wasn't bad. I'm just not used to someone really casual like Darren who isn't like Nico. At. All.
I grabbed my phone from the night stand immediately calling him. The phone rang....it kept ringing.....ringing...
Still ringing.
Stillll ringing.
"Hey it's Darren's phone, call later or just leave a message after the beep.......BEEP" I giggled softly. And called again.
And again.
And again.
Still no answer. I left a voicemail.
"Umm hey, I wanted to call and say hi. Um you not answering is worrying me a bit. Please call me back" I put down my phone, noticing that it was already 1pm, did i sleep in that late? Jesus Christ.
I stood up from my bed, feeling the cold wooden floor on my bare feet. I squealed running into the bathroom to get ready for my day at home.
I hopped into the shower to freshen up a bit after the long weekend. Today this was the plan.
- eat
-make cookies cause cookies are good
-read
-draw a little and then paint it onto a canvas
-water my plants
-work out because I like to eat unhealthy and be skinny
- drink tea
-shower
-watch new girl
It was going to be such a good day.

I was sketching in my sketch book, each stroke of my pencil created a master piece in my book. I was in my peace and comfort, forgetting all about the world around me. Soft music was playing in the house to fill the silence. Until a piercing ringing ran through the house. I grabbed my white cardigan, draping it over my shoulders.
I turned the door knob pulling the door open.
My heart dropped. He stood there many feet taller then me, looking down. He had a fresh bruise on his cheek with some stitches. The bridge of his nose was a very light shade of purple with a small cut. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, with some jeans. His eyes looked sad and guilty. I felt my heart begin to gain back it's speed, the oxygen in my lungs was flowing much slower making it hard to breath. The stinging sensation in my nose began signaling my eyes to start to water.
"Can we please talk?" He stared into my eyes and i into his. They were light blue almost glass like. I gulped stepping aside. It's been a month. I should let him speak. Nico stepped into the house walking immediately down the small hall to my living room. The room shined of sunlight all around. My heart ached.
He sat down on the couch looking down at his hands. There was a envelope in his hands. Questions ran through my mind, what could be in the envelope? Why is he here? He let out a breath and looked at me.
"I can't stop thinking about you Kendall," his voice was lower the a whisper. I bit my lip softly not wanting to break down in front of him. "I have something for you" he held out the envelope handing it to me. I slowly walked over to the white couch grabbing the envelope out of his hands. I sat down on the far end of the couch not being able to sit right next to him.
