"No"

"I said no!" I yelled loudly at Mark, who was insisting on the business deal. My hands turned into tight fists. I felt my nails pierce the skin on my palms.

"Why not Nicolas?! It's a good deal, you'll make thousands if not millions!" He slammed the folder on the table pointing at it.

"I'm not investing in a business that makes off brand chips, are you an idiot? I think you fucking are?!" Our argument got interrupted by Pamela walking into my office.

"Mr. Devon, Mr. Davidson is placed on hold. He is wondering when you can discuss details of how his company will improve once you purchase it?"

"What line?" I sat down at my desk waiting for her to respond.

"Line 2" I picked up the phone, Mark looked like he could try to kill me but he definitely couldn't. "I said no, Mark, now go do your fucking job"

He stormed out of my office, as I began to talk to the client.

I spent about 4 hours answering emails and phone calls. When I looked at the time it was around 6 pm. I reached out to take a sip of my coffee. I thought about Kendall and how yesterday, I had the thought of her lips on mine.

I kept feeling like if I was missing something. Did I have something else to do today? What was it?

It wasn't until I took my fourth sip of coffee when I realized Kendall's Gallery thing was today. Shit. I finished up the email then quickly turned off my computer. I didn't really need to change out, it was a formal event. I quickly grabbed my phone texting her.

Nicolas: Omw

She wasn't answering back, I mean she is working right now so I wasn't surprised.

"Mr. Devon you have a meeting shortly" Pamela stood up following me to the elevator. I pressed the button waiting for the elevator to open.

"I'm done for the day, send me the email of the schedule of things I have to do later. Have a Goodnight" I stepped into the elevator a bit excited to see her art. I wonder what she painted.

⁂⁂⁂

I parked my car in the parking garage that was closest to the gallery. I looked at my watch seeing that it was 6:30. Hopefully I'm not that late.

When I walked into the gallery it was packed. People pointing at paintings, talking, eating, drinking, I began to walk around trying to see if I could find Kendall but there were just so many people. Instead I just ate what they had and looked at the paintings.

After about 40 minutes of looking around, I saw some paintings that didn't really match the others. They were also way in the back, not close to the others, there was about only 2 or 3 people looking at the paintings.

There were a few body paintings and portraits. There was even a landscape painting, it had a fairy picking rocks from a stream and it looked very ethereal.

These were probably her paintings.

I looked for the small sign that said the artist name. I was right, it was hers. They were perfectly painted, the color, stroke, everything. It was perfect.

I kept staring at the painting until a voice interrupted my peace.

"You thinking of buying?" A blond haired girl asked me, she seemed about 5'7, she wore some low waisted jeans and a tight shirt.
